@Obi-Wan-Evan: While of course your suggestion goes without saying, my comment was aimed at Bastila Shan's claim in her post. If anyone claims some sort of knowledge that isn't well-known already, they should provide a source for their info.

I think they will
I think they will make Kotor III. They made a killing of Kotor I and probally as well off of Kotor II cause people expected it to be as good as the first. So those that played both for sure will buy a Kotor III when it comes out. I think they'd be foolish to let an opportunity like this go. There will be a Kotor III I know it. I just wonder wether or not they'll make it as if its going to be there last Kotor or expand. Im sure they'll survive a Kotor III but what about a Kotor IV.
I guess we'll have to wait and see. I do hope they explain what heppened to the Goddes Revan/Lord Revan. Kotor II explained somewhat. Carth did say that Revan went off into space to search for something he/she could sense lurking in the shadow's but other than that they didnt give much information and I couldnt get any information out of Kreia about Revan so thats all I know.

Well I have been to many Kotor forums and read many rumours here and there. One of the forums that state Kotor III might be made on the xbox 360 is the obsidian forums. so if you pop over the the obsidan forums here you might find actually quite alot of speculation on Kotor III
click here go to obsidians glorious Kotor III speculation thread where you will find many wonderful surprises to Kotor III speculation
http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php ... 35145&st=0
heres a rumous about Kotor III from game imformer
game informer, march issue, page 40
Obsidian did pretty well taking over for BioWare in KOTOR II: The Sith Lords, and it's got more up it's sleeve for the third installment. A source tells us that the game is going to reveal more about the HK series of droids, including where they are from and who makes them. Also planed is an exploration of the Outer Rim territories following in Reven's footsteps.
source
http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=35292
another rumour from http://www.starwarsknights.com
We all known that extremely successful series spawn sequels, and KotOR is successful by every standard possible. So, it doesn't come as too much of a suprise that there rumours making the rounds about a KotOR 3.
Today, that rumour comes in the form of an anonymous e-mail suggesting that Microsoft Games Studios is well aware of a sequel. The mail does mention the name of a well known MGS employee (no, it's neither Allard, Moore nor Kim; more like second-level famous), so it could of course be fake. If not, the question arises whether it will be for Xbox, or the spanking new 360.

please be aware that theses are only all speculation. SO please feel three to go through the links and read all of them carefully

Hello Ladies And Gentlman,
UPDATED! 22nd July 2005
More Kotor III Tidbits
I believe there is some more very minor info on Kotor III. Not much info but this just might boost our hopes up a notch for a Kotor III.
Here is what stawarsknight.com had to say:
source:
http://www.starwarsknights.com
In article published in the The Hollywood Reporter LucasArts reveals its intention to make LucasArts the growth engine of LucasFilm over the next decade and to double the number of its employees in order to make more development internally. Jim Ward, the president of the company, also promises that LucasArts will be putting more emphasis on the quality of its future games.
In an interview published in the Globe and Mail, Peter Hirschman, vice-president of product development at LucasArts, gives more details about the future of LucasArts games.
As for future games, we can expect new Indiana Jones titles, a number of new intellectual properties such as Mercenaries which was lauched in January 2005, and of course, StarWars games, some of them with a plot focusing on the period between Episodes 3 and 4 of the movies.
When asked about Knights of the Old Republic III, Hirschman answered:

A: That's a great idea. [Poker face]

more info on the future of star wars games.Star Wars knights III is mentioned very very breifly but I guess there is still hope click here:
http://www.globetechnology.com/servlet/ ... equested=1
to view the source of this info. A very detailed info indeed, hope you all enjoy reading all of it
and here is more on another site about gaming. I believe Kotor III (I think) is mentioned. But please do not give your hopes to high. I thought I just share the info with fellow Kotorians who are hoping that there might be a Kotor III like me

Well, this is only my thoughts here, but here goes...
Given that it's now August and there's been no conclusive info on the making of KotOR III--LucasArts has info on other games to be released, like Empire at War--I think it's safe to say KotOR III won't be rushed to be finished by the end of this year, like KotOR II was.

I heard on ABC News that LucasArts laid off a lot of people, supposedly working on the unannouced Kotor 3. However, the Director of LucusArts has made "no comment". Personnally, I think there is no other way. LucasArts released a lot of not-so-good games in the past. One man had the idea of an RPG Star Wars game, it became KotOR. This was 'Arts' last attempt at a Star Wars game. It flew off shelves. If LucasArts wants to stay in business, they might want to stop messing around with the budget and look at the public. Produce lots of liked games, like KOTOR 3 and your budget won't be a problem. Might even need a bigger bank account.

Hello Kotorians
I found this
Kotor 3 Announced
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"As a leading representative of BioWare Corp. given the mamoth task of publicising the next in the series of Knights Of The Old Republic games (KOTOR 3), I have permission to confirm that this title is now several months underway.
This may come as a surprise to those who are currently reading this, as it was previously believed that the KOTOR staff had been cut from the LucasArts project. I can also confirm that the KOTOR 3 team is now officially on LucasArts budget and eagerly developing what we hope to be a 'must have' title on as of yet unconfirmed Next Generation platforms for 2006.
With more details to be released in the coming weeks, 3 points concerning KOTOR 3 can be posted:
1)The story takes place in a period roughly 14 years after KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords.
2)There will be new characters, equipment, classes, mini games and an entirely new combat system based on the interface used on Jade Empire.
3)The plot follows directly from the last game, plunging the galaxy into war with the True Sith.
This has yet to be posted onto the BioWare official website (http://www.bioware.com) as the pages are currently serving as a front to keep viewers occupied during a drastic remodelling process of the entire site.
As previously stated, this message is soon to be posted around the internet, and new details are to be released soon.
Keep checking back for more information."
Found this online somewhere great news or what? And to think that Bio ware is doing the game makes my day!

Thats great news, and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I can't wait! The only thing that looks a little odd to me is that they are switching to the Jade Empire combat system. They might be changing it mainly for the fact that it is going to be on the next gen platforms, but i would think it would feel different on the computer, but who knows. I guess we'll just have to wait for more info on Kotor3 to see what it is really going to be like. But now I am just happy that they are in progress of making the third one.

Right. Well, is it just me or does the source you pulled it from seem somewhat suspiscious? The original poster did not link where it came from, and only said they had found it somewhere on the net. Likewise, that is the poster's only post on that site. Anyway, I'd also think a Bioware rep would give their name in this kind of announcement.

Or in some case where you could verify it was actually from a developer's rep. But, yeah, I'd be someone surprised if this was authentic.

Okay, I think I can debunk that so-called post of KotOR III.
Simple military tactics can help in this situation. The True Sith--we're led to believe--have allowed events in the Republic to go so far; between the final three Sith Lords, the Republic is almost devoid of Jedi. Between Nihilus eradicating Katarr and all the Jedi therein, and Sion and Traya's Sith Assassins, the Jedi Order is effectively extinct. As such, the True Sith aren't going to wait 14 years before attacking; it's stupid. In that period of time, new Jedi can emerge, or some of the old Jedi may return to reconstruct the Order. The True Sith, if they're going to attack, will come maybe months after the events that transpire at Malachor V. If they wait too long, they forfeit their chief advantage over the Republic, and that's just not good military tactical thinking.

Actually, Lucasarts laid off a lot of people more than a year before Kotor2. They haven't laid off anybody, since. They also hired on new staff. The idea was to return to doing games in-house, instead of largely farming them out.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

well said, chimaera. i agree. and, heck, i dont even think theyd wait a week to attack! another thing, why would they have a whole buncha new characters when at the end of KOTOR II we find out that *spoiler* mira, disciple, atton, and bao-dur are the "lost jedi" or whatever they call em? thats just messed to not be able to play any of them. also, why the heck would they change the freakin combat system? i dont know what jade empire is exactly like, but if it involves rapidly pounding on buttons, then im sorry-they should not add that to KOTOR. even if its not like that, why change it when every1 whos played the 1st two are so used to the current combat system? its crazy! *huffs* whatever...ill still buy the game.
COME ON, KOTOR III. I'M WAITIN!
