I am around lvl 20 in DSII and I must say it seems to me that the armor bonuses doesn't work. For example (the numbers are theoretical for better understanding):
I find for example helmet that has armor +20 and +40% armor bonus. Without any helmet my char has a total armor of 100. After equipping the helmet I only get armor of 120 not 120*1.4=168 like I was used to from Sacred for example.
I wonder if I am missing some point in the skill/bonus system.
Please post your opinions about it. I am sure u already came across an item with armor bonus.
and btw I am not talking about demo/beta
% armor bonuses not working?
I'm pretty sure the armor bonus is only for the piece of equipment it's on, and that the bonus is already reflected in the armor value that you see. So the object in your example might have 14 base armor and 14 *1.4 = 20 adjusted armor.

yeah, well also though of that option but than what is the point of having it written there...u don't care if the armor is 20 by default or 20 because of armor bonus if it doesn't count for other items.....
dunno this kinda seems strange to me...maybe there is sthg more about it...
maybe the armor bonus is only added on armors from sets and only if all other pieces of sets are equipped...

The armor bonus on an item is already reflected in the description of the item. For example, an item that just has +x% to armor as a magical attribute will still have a blue number as its armor rating.
Some of the items are kinda silly that way, because they say stuff like +2 Armor, +17% Armor and +7 armor all in one. I wonder if anyone knows what the precendence for such modifiers are.
