Problem with Arinth's Staff Quest *Spoiler*

Post by jet1186 »

I'm at the Azunite Cliffs platform that should take me to the Elven Reliquary with the Focusing Stone part of the staff. But I can't find any type of switch or button that will allow me to use the platform. It's just...there. I already picked up the Carved Rod from the Northern Vai'lutra Forest but not the Jeweled Shaft part.

Can anyone help me with this? Am I missing something at the Azunite Cliffs or is this a bug other people are having?

Blue Dots...

Even secret and hidden switches appear as a blue dot on my map....

Yes, thats exactly what is strange here, even with the dot. Although a dot doesnt give a 100% probability since sometimes (bug/feature?) all things which are below/above are also displayed on a 2D map. So it could also be the switch below, to go up. oh well. :)

BTW are u talking about the 'Arinth the Mad' in 'Some Lost Elven Ruins' just north of teleport called 'The Lost Valley of the Azunites' ?

If yes can u pls tell me how to break the 'Enchanted Pillar' that is holding Arinth imprisoned? Says I need some special weapon, but all I found it that ruins was a Mysterious Bucket with some wierd stats:

Mysterious Bucket
(Bucket from Mysterious Set)

The owner of this bucket has an uncanny knack for finding that which is hidden

The item which will free him from his prison is part of an Act III side quest.

Yes and you need to be a high-level combat mage to be able to equip it. Bad luck for my party.

ahh...thx...well lucklilly my main char is combat mage (decent damage with low mana costs)...I actually restarted the game after gaining 20 lvls and teaching what skills are usefull...now my party is really cool...remember how BIG problems I had in the Azunite desert cave with Unded Azunite soldiers the first time I played. The second time with my new build I only used about 5 poitions to clear that cave...the first time I used at least 50 ;o]

btw one more thing, I just finished act 1 and have all secondary quests finished except one I didn't even recieve. It is the fourth from top on page 2 between Dire Wolf and Feldwyr the Blacksmith and I wonder if this is the missing one...

If you need a high level combat mage

Just recruit finala to your party.... think she was a level 22 Combat Mage when she joined the my party which were all about level 22-24. I currently have 2 Combat Mages, 1 Nature Mage and a Ranger and have gone through Acts 1 and 2 with great ease.

For some reason I can't figure out how to get across either of these draw bridges, and can't find any other way to that area. Don't suppose someone could tell me how to get across these bridges. Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, this island is not a part of Arinth's Staff quest.
Second, there is a switch and some crubled wall near one of the bridges.
Third, you must find elevator with symbol of Isteru near the Incantation Shrine, and button is on the stairs.

Go to first windostone teleporter and go into the cave (it should be called "cave of isteru" os sth like this). Find incantation shrine, and in vicinity you will encouter elevator. Switch is on nearby stairs.

but where is the switch/button

I guess what people are trying to say is that they (including me)CANT find the switch by the stairs.

so perhaps, if anyone could be more specific about where the switch on the stairs. espesially when it doesn't seem to be higlighted by a blue dot on the map (at least not mine :-( )

Code: Select all

The stairs from above. to the left is the room with the shrine, to the bottom
of the screen is the door you entered the room from. The two switches for
the water are top-right and bottom-right.
