A Key?

so i just killed the summoner in hell difficulty and i got a key. whats with that. can you help explain it to me and what i need to do with it?

The key is related to the new quest with the new "uber monsters".

Summoner has 1/34 chance to drop a key of Hate.
Countess has 1/34 chance to drop a key of Terror.
Nilathak has 1/34 chance to drop a key of Destruction.

Transmute 1 of each key to open a portal to the following areas:
1. One area you will fight Duriel
2. One area you will fight Lilith (Andariel Clone)
3. One area you will fight Izual.
(Note: you must be in Act 5)

If you beat these demons you get a brain, horn, and eye. Place these in the cube and a portal to Tristram opens up. Defeat Uber Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal and you get a unique large charm called a torch which adds 3 to skills, and 10-20 stats/res as well as some other mods.

Is this the "Pandemonium Event" introduced in patch 1.11. A new level that is accessable after you complete the game in hell difficulty??

Yes, although you don't need to complete Hell difficulty, you only need to have access to Act 5 Hell to participate in the event.

And this event can be activated in on or offline characters because i have it offline and i want to make sure its not some freak accident that i got it.

Hmmm...

I just collected all of the keys and they are not working. Do i put all the keys in the cube at a time or one at a time? I was sure that im in act 5 and they were all diffrent keys. Do i need a town portal? Help would be very appriciated.

It doesn't work in singleplayer or Open battle.net. You need to put one key of each type (Hate, Terror, Destruction) in the cube and transmute them in Harrogath in Act 5 Hell.

Because it would be to much hassle to remove it from single player and Open.bnet play.
