Sci-Fi Diablo RPG

Post by Archaon376 »

Hey guys, a few years ago I remember the release of a sci-fi diablo-style RPG. I'm having trouble remembering the name so if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. From what I remember from the demo is you get to pick a character (i think it was like robot, human, alien) and basically you just decend into levels and kill monsters as you level up. You buy better equipment (guns, armor, etc.) and level up.

So if anyone can help me here, I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Thanks a lot in advance.

You probably think of Restriced Area. You can read a little about it here at another Gamebanshee forum:

I started playing it because I had read and heard it was a Diablo-clone game, but was quite dissappointed. I regret I have to say I found the game horribly tedious and boring and stopped playing it after a little while.

Thanks for taking the time to reply though, much appreciated :)

if you want a Dclone try Sacred

a game i bought and played a while back was Sacred.. and i tried it because i heard 'its a perfect diablo clone'... and while i have to semi-agree it is a good diablo stlye game, it could have been so much better... if they were gonna try and clone d2 they should have stolen even MORE ideas from it to make it even playable (haha seriously)... anyways my advice would be to ignore me and keep playing d2 because its THAT much better, but if you really want a different game with the same feel as diablo... Sacred is a good candidate...

Sacred was definitely a game that took a lot from Diablo 2. Two more games from these forums would fit the mold of "Diablo2 clone that isn't quite as good" would be Dungeon Siege 2 and Divine Divinity. They're pretty good, but I wouldn't get them unless they were on sale. Divine Divinity has a sequel called Beyond Divinity, but I can't comment on it having never played it.
