Runeword ?

Guys - well, this was my first try at a runeword.
I wanted to create "stealth" armor.
According to the listings of v1.09+(... non-ladder), "stealth" is TalEth.
I found a Yellow-2 socket armor, and right brefore I quit late last night in the Chaos Sanctuary, found a Tal rune(... have 5 Eth runes).
So, I put the Tal in first, then the Eth.
My armor says TalEth in Gold.
But, my armor's name didn't change to "stealth", nor do the modifiers look the same.
I see no +25% FCR.

Did I screw up ?
Do I need White, Gray or Blue 2-socket armor ?
Does "stealth" still work in v1.10 ?

These are modifiers according to the "stealth" listing.........>
Required clvl: 17
25% Faster Cast Rate
25% Faster Hit Recovory
25% Faster Run/Walk
Magic Damage Reduced by 3
Regenerate Mana +15%
Poison Resist +30%
+15 to Maximum Stamina
+6 to Dexterity

I only noticed the +15% regenerate mana & +30% poison resist.
None of the others appear nor did my armor's name change.

I'm going to look for different armor(White,Gray,Blue) & try and find another Tal rune.

OK, I screwed up

"NO MAGICAL/SET/UNIQUE ARMOR"

Time to find more armor & Tal rune.

Hmmm... was your armor magical? In other words, did it have some magical properties? IIRC you can not make runewords in magic items.

Kipi - yes, it was Yellow.
My runeword listing didn't mention any rules on the type of gear, so I kept trading up. I had a nice White 2-socket in Act 3 :-(
I've run Act 4 for 8+ hours and I've found 5 one-socket and 2 three-socket.
I'll keep doing Act 4 till I find one

Found one Tal rune .. half way there

Ok, found plain GRAY 2-socket armor; whew.

My question now is, I just found GRAY 2-socket Superior Serpenskin Armor.
But, it has increased durability in BLUE.
Does that extra modifier make it magical ?
Or, GRAY is GRAY, and any modifier is a perk.
Of course, now I'll need to find another Tal rune

Hrm as long as I understand what you're refering to everything as...

Grey Items - Socketed or Etherel both work with runewords
Grey sockected items are the only one that do, nothing else does. (I learnt the hard way using my socketing quest...)

Magic - Blue
Yellow - Rare
Gold - Unique
Green - Set
White - Normal (essentially)

Botched the runeword/armor twice.
I just thought, asking another stupid question is better than making another stupid mistake.
Now I need tio find a Tal rune.
Found more Amn/Sol than Tal :-(
At least, all this extra run-ning around has given me extra hammer-din practice

ehm.. about that tal rune. you could just cube it! i have a lot of tal's

just put 3 of the previus step in the cube

i dont remember the previus step, but i think its ort or ral.. probably ral.
