Has anyone had this message pop up

A few times now, when I'm fighting something, a red message comes up at the bottom each time I strike. "The (whatever) can not retain any more Buffs." The (whatever) seems to just stand there and get beaten on. I can still kill it though. Is this a glitch or is the monster just having a bad hair day ?

A friend of mine had this happen to him, using Wrath of the Bear spell - or a buff - and not the attack one, on enemies actually thus causing this error. Could it be something similar? It was easily fixed by switching spells.

I had 3 other fighters with me, so no spell problem. I even ran off and returned to beat on him some more,, but no change. Wierd happenings.

Really odd that. I mean I get it with the spell thing, the enemies shouldn't be affected by spells like those, they'd be getting tougher so the error occured but only weapons, odd indeed!
