Mysterious ??? creature question

Post by Krow »

I have found all 3 of the mysterious items but did not get to kill the ??? creature on the mercenary level. After killing the final enemy, I entered the portal to end the game on this level and started the next level.

I have not yet seen the ??? creature the second time through the game. Is he only around on the first level (mercenary)?

No, he's everywhere (in all 3), so what ever you did not finish in the merc, you'll get to do again :)
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, he did finally show up again near the end of Act I the second time though. I have yet to kill the slippery little guy though.

I've read that he has a chance of appearing whenever a rare item or better is dropped. But, I have also read that he's a thief. Does this mean that he tries to steal the rare item dropped or rare items in your inventory? If it's in your inventory, do you have a better chance of him showing up if you keep a rare item in your inventory all the time? Right now, I have +135% find magic, and I rarely see him.

Try giving all your party better chances of finding magic items. I have noticed that the "person" delivering the death blow is the determining factor, so if you bump ALL of their chances up, you get some pretty good loot.

Happy gaming,

Yeah, I kinda thought the same thing. Being a Nature Mage, my main character rarely delivers the killing attack. I've been trying to find a way to beef up Sartan, since he does all the killing. I do have a pet, but it's a Light Najad, and I rarely have her attacking...keeping her for healing instead.

Thanks for the info both of you.

As it seems he has some HP, I think reaching lvl 30 will be preferd before be albe to kill him, exept if u have a party with some serious damage output...

actualy i killed the ??? guy 3 or 4 times while still finishing the merc mode...so now i have in my inventory some extra medalions which i wonder .... can i use them in different dificulties? Coz i guess i can...in this case i dont need to see this sucka anymore coz the only thing he does is STEALING, and i dont like it...always when i see something purple or yellow on the floor he jumps up and tryin to pinch it from me.... that makes me wanna TAKE AIM at his butt....regarding the health...yeah he does have a health, but is ment to be brought down only by POWERS...i mean doesnt matter how HARD strike or MIGHTY magic u use against him...if u dont use power u CANT bring him down u can only scratch him and make him drop a junky rare item...that u gona have to sell or feed ur pet with it... and realy theres some truth in UND3RD0G's words... u need to be higher level to make it hurt, otherwise ... i told u...i can slap him twise n he'll be gone :D ... good luck chasin' that ??? dude... in matter of fact... the whole profit behind this misterious quest is the small doggies that u fight and maybe the copies of ur characters.... the rest is PURE SHYT...
