Main Charater look Idea's

Post by buxton_boy »

Ive always thought that you should be able to pick a species and play with there looks no what I mean like change the apperance of your characters for Instance you should be able to be a wookie but you choose his accessories and fur colour, or maybe play with the appearance of a rodian, or Yoda's species

I hope this does happen for kotor 3 thats the main thing they need to change. it adds more game depth as well.

I think that, for example, wookie race cannot be played, ´cause I can´t imagine wookie-Jedi. Of course, if you had choice not to be a Jedi, then it would be ok, but KotOR is all about Jedis, isn´t it? :)

I've also thought about this. Kotor III just needs a better way to customize the character. (i.e. Species ---> Hair Color ----> Facial Hair Color---> Eye Color ----> Height ----> Age ----> Clothing ---->Etc.) In the previous two games, the faces become a little old.

There should be at least a few different species to choose from. I'd also like to see a character generator similiar to what we see in some sports games.
That way everyones character would be a least a little different.
When all else fails, try brute force.

That's what I'm talking about. Like, the game makers could incorporate an engine along the lines of some wrestling games. I really think this Idea would give the game more realism

I agree with every thing here apart from the "wookies cant be jedi" they should theres beenat least 2 that ive seen in the star wars universe. I would like to see more alien companions as there are to many humans. The face editing thing is a good idea but as long as there are a mix of alien races i dont see a need for it.

Also get rid of the ebon hawk it bores me to death that ship.

That's another thing that would be cool for a third Kotor game-the ability to customize your ship. Like, while visiting various worlds, you could pick up different parts that would make your ship unique. I wouldn't mind being able to name my ship, either.

Well, I'm getting off topic here. So, anyway, I just think that if there is a third KotOR game, there should be more room for customization.

Hi,

I'm not very familiar with the Star Wars universe so, I've no idea what type of alien races that exist in there save for the ones I know in Star Wars related games.

By the way, what type of aliens usually join the Jedi? The ones I know are twileks, the guy whose head is shaped like an egg (a certain Jedi Master in Episode 3 though I wonder of what race...) and Yoda's/Vandar's species. Please fill me in on this info. Thanks.

I was thinking of something like oblivion, you can really customsize everything about your face. And maybe something exclusive; customsize ur entire body: muscles, fat/slim, height, enz.

At last, some response on this topic, though not exactly the answer I seek.

I like your idea of face customisation, FighterTundra. Oblivion's face customisation is as good as the Sims 2 face customisation option.

The guy whose head is shaped like an egg. Kinda want to make me laugh when I see it. Better look up Wikipedia to get some info.

A powerful option

Probably one of the most powerful options they can give the player is allowing them NOT to be a Jedi/Sith. Maybe something else, for instance a Bounty Hunter or a Republic Commander. Then I could see how any species and their looks (appearance) can be completely up to the game player.

I personally think the sweetest thing is if I can be a Mandalorian (or any race) bounty hunter.

Of course, if they do this, they can't make the game EXTREMELY open because then it would take years to make and years to finish.

About that part, I think its not suitable as it'll turn off quite a number of players. Furthermore, the KOTOR series is centered around Jedis so don't expect that to come true either. :)

True. The idea of including the Bounty Hunter or a Republic Commander will make the game linear in terms of the story.

I can't see the game having you NOT be a jedi, seeing as how the game's name is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I'm pretty sure "Knights" is referring to the Jedi, keepers of the peace and balance and all that crap, but I could be wrong.

As for wookie jedi, I think it'd be ok to put in, I personally wouldn't want to be one, but hey, that's what choosing's all about, you don't have to be a wookie if you don't want to. Bounty hunters are cool, but you really don't see that many as jedi. Actually, I haven't seen any. But w/e, again, you don't have to be one if you don't.

i understand both sides of the whole "wookie jedi" thing, it doesnt fit the character, but in galaxies, it was fun for awhile. what would be nice is there to be more party members that you get to choice, so its not only humans (both k1&2 had it that way). the main character needs to be a jedi, one thing i liked from TSL was that you started as a jedi. it kind of took away from the whole "find your past, and make you future" theme, but was a fun change none the less.
