how to play elite without completing 3x??

Post by norman1nz »

Hi folks,
I am a great fan of this series - I completed the orig DS, DSLOA, and just recently DS2 mercinary (but missed several secondary quests..)
And after what must be altogether WEEKS of playing I want to complete it to 100%.
I've found a couple of walkthroughs which I'm going to have to use and I want to do this as Elite difficulty... But I'm not too keen on having to complete the exact same game again on Veteran first.

Getting to the point - does anybody have a saved game folder [or link to one] at the end of Veteran that could be downloaded and used to skip the middle man?

Thanks.
BTW: Is there any real difference between merc / vet / elite apart from being able to have a larger hihger level party (therefore attracting more / higher level mobs)?

Nope.

SWC
Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

I'm guessing here that a save file could be loaded onto another PC...

It's kind of cheating your way to the top.

As for the differences between difficulties, you do get a larger party plus there are higher level weapons, armor and spells and much stronger and more resistant mobs. As for the story, nothing changes in the difficulty levels.

That may be how you look at it - but personally I dont want to play the same game with same monsters and storyline 3 times..

I'm only going to play it once more, and thats why I want to do it completely for the last time..
But i'd like my last game to to most difficult so as to make it more intersting, plus have the 6 characters for more of a change.

also the party I started off with was based on my strategy for the original DS - have a warrior up front, and a healer, and the rest bowmen. But after compelting it I've found that bowmen are probly the least useful and combat mage most useful. But it's too late to change - unless I start again - or use somebody else's save file (therefore more variety :) )

yea my 2c

anyways... does anyone have a completed save game they'd like to share - help a brother out :D

If you don't like your bowman, put him in the inn and take a combat mage with you. You can swap your characters around to take any variety of classes with you in any of the 3 difficulties.

hm yea i tried that but they were at really low level :( - and i believe if their levels are too far behind they only receive a fraction of the experiene points... making it take even longer to get them up to scratch

My wife and I play on our LAN together. We just bought the game a short time ago. Our second game together, it took us 3 days to get to Elite level. I'm sure you can do it in no time flat.

In the meantime, get a pet until you reach 20 levels above the character you need at the inn.

So if I add level 12 Vix to my party and I'm level 36, he will suddenly be level 36?

I'm happy to report that adding level 12 Vix to my party suddenly made him level 39, which is the lowest level of the other three in the party.

So you must have been level 41 at the time. They will auto-upgrade to 2 levels below your main character when you are 20+ levels above them.

Ah

This game is so easy thou, you only need at most 2 character to sweep though it. Besides it only takes less then 3 weeks to go through all three difficulty.
