What Do You Want in KotOR III?
romance!!!
There's got to be romance!!! It was GREAT in KOTOR I with Revan/Bastila Revan/Carth!!! But I also like the aspect of choosing who the character can be with like in KOTOR II. Of course, in KOTOR II the romance was too subtle and there was no outcome to it.
There's got to be a pregnant jedi too!!! It would create a lot of conflict and that'd be GREAT!!! Perhaps the pregnant one could be the PC's sister or friend?
There has to be an in depth plot with A LOT of sidequests and a lot of interactions between characters in the game.
The new game should be called KOTOR III: The lost jedi. In the end of KOTOR II, Kreia reveals that the NPC's that could become Jedi are the lost jedi. Maybe they will have to be rescued... they'd join the party. (Mira, Disciple, Handmaiden, Bao-Dur, Visas Marr) and they are all neutral again since the exile left.
The plot should be to first rescue the Lost Jedi, then go to the unknown regions and fight the "true sith". The first part would be where the PC gets most of it's levels. The second part would be more intense and everything comes together...

NO. I don't want the same party from previous KotOR again. Band of plastic doll's, maybe except of(for?) Mandalore and Kreia. I want new people (and unpeople too), that'd could be somehow connected to the old characters, but not the same one's again. Of course I want to know what happened to them, but that's a diffrent story.
In the mist by the hills the day darkens
In this forest death rules
Over this chasm riders of doom and face him with a deadly pale
Spectre face
Grim as stone, ride to the deathfields... Blackness and doom
A total eclipse of the sun
Die by the northern triology in the mist by the hills

I agree with Feirce. There are so many ways that you can find out what happened to them without having to suffer with them in your party again. Most of the characters in Kotor2 I hardly used anyway because they were pointless and only there to fill up the numbers so I definately don't want them back

I thought this thread is almost dead at first......
Anyway, I don't understand Fierce's idea of unpeople. Do you mean non-humans or something like that?
Just want to blurt out my thoughts. Been thinking it over for a bit. I may not be an ardent fan of the KOTOR series but frankly, if the KOTOR series has a linear storyline (think Prince of Persia and you know what I mean), then I wouldn't mind playing the previous characters again.
However, due to the nature of an open-ended game like for example, KOTOR and Fable, its very hard to make a sequel based on the first game. To me, in my opinion, if a game of this nature is given a sequel, the sequel should not be related to the first game. That will surely give the developers more of an open scope than that of a game that expands upon the first one, especially an open-ended game.

I want a few things, one a lightsaber at the begining at the ****ing game, 2, less characters that can't become jedi like droids. 3 better saber to saber combat, they should design a seperate combat system just for those battles. 4 More levels like dantooine in part 2 where you have to create a defensable position. and 5 mor about revan, it was annoying to get a little tidbit of info at the end of 2 reaven's much more interesting then the exile, oh and cusomisable jedi robes.
He stood
his sword ready waiting for death
and when his enemy asked
"why are you not afraid of death"
he answered
"for I have no love of life"
his foe attacked
and died
and The hero stood
staring at the stars
wishing he was dead

Yes I agree, if you start out as a Jedi in the begining. If you start out as some other class, forget it as you cannot wield it.

I think Revan's story in KOTOR 2 is more of a side story than the main part of the game. Most of the time, the story seems to be centered around Kreia as I posted previously somewhere.
And yes, Revan is more interesting than the Exile. Have more of a backstory than the Exile.

As much as I agree with you here, I think you posted your opinion in the wrong thread. This thread is supposed to be for what you don't want in KOTOR 3 not what do you want in KOTOR 3.

I think they should make Kotor III like grand theft auto in some respects. You should be able to walk around doing what you want and do missions when you're ready and i also think the ability to buy new haircuts/tatoos would be pretty cool. But i dont think it should have ability to walk around killing just about anyone

For that tatoo thing, i don't know if that fits with star wars, i mean, you ever saw someone in a starwars movie/game with tatoos? no. And for the walking around free, isn't that already possible, i mean you follow 1 line, but you can still go to shops, get sidequest, enz. But you ideas weren't that bad tough.
Had to agree with FighterTundra here. Never seen anyone who has a tatoo on in the Star Wars Universe. Though, if a Sith sport one, it'll suit him or her since they are after all, bad guys.
Haircuts are kind of cool though. They'd better put in a barbershop to do so.

Here is a thought about decided Revan and the Exile in KOTOR III. The PC goes searching for the two beyond outer space or wherever they said the true sith are. You come upon a world and on that world you run into the natives. Revan is refferred to as a female in KOTOR I & II, so let's make it easy and say she's a she. as for the exile, you can ask people if they've seen anyone named...and you would fill in a name, then they'd ask PC to describe exile and you'd make a character to fit what you want.
They could do the description thing in a similar way to the character creation in Morrowind - they could say they know little about Revan and the Exile and ask you to tell them about them and then it could go to a character creation menu where you customise Revan and the Exile to fit how you had them in the other two games. The ls/ds aspect could get complicated though when it comes to trying to fit it into the story.
As for the Revan is female thing - in Kotor 1 if you make Revan female then they refer to her as female, if you make Revan male they refer to him as male. They same goes (more a less, if you forget about little dialogue glitches/bugs lol) for Revan in Kotor 2 - you decide the gender. So Revan cannot just be assumed to be female.

I think the idea of customising both Revan and the Exile will be troublesome in my opinion, especially when you include the new character as well. In fact, why not give them set faces, be they female of male? At least it will be more simple plus the option the idea to include voice actors to voice both Revan and the Exile will be possible including the new character as well (always hated mutes in any game I play).
I remember posting previously about some idea for KOTOR 3 about alignment and gender. Wonder where is it?
Ah, found it:
When you start a new game, you have to choose between light side and dark side starting point. Light side will start after both Star Forge and Malachor V were blown up and both Revan and Exile will start as LS. As for the dark side, both Star Forge and Malachor V will be retained and both Revan and Exile will start as DS. Both these starts will have different endings. As for character class, you can only decide the main character's (Revan's) class and gender (depends if its feasible).
This is the best I can think of for now.

I like the idea to choose the looks of the other main characters from KOTOR I/II, and I like choosing at the beginning whether you wanna be ls or ds.
I just have 2 requests that I think could make this game great: 1) take their damn time, and 2) read popular Star Wars forums such as this one. The more the creators read, the more they'll please.
Now, as for the voices, they should pull an "SVR 2006": let us CHOOSE. That'll make it much easier to have voice-overs, and to make Revan and the Exile customizable, eh? They did something like what mr_sir said in KOTOR II: they let us make our old lightsaber thru questions Atton asked.
Do similar in the next one, just about appearance, or places (be asked "what was it like?" and answer "giant city" or "forest" etc) or personalities. It's not that hard to put into the game, just create options like "grouchy" then if it's chosen have Revan be grouchy.

Yup. I agree here. Anyway, most game developers are getting their feedback by leafing through forums and discussion boards nowadays in order to improve on the next game.

You're going to need a lot of voice actors just to voice both Revan and the Exile by using that method. To me, that is very troublesome and expensive to the developer.

Again, if Revan was given that option, will that be a good idea? Considering that if he/she is given a voice actor, the personality will be set by then and changing it will be hard.

Yes, but still, there should be some sort of way to make voices. And if it takes a long time, good, it'll just be that much better. Look at SVR 2006. I hated the last couple games made by the WWE cuz they rushed them, making the stories repetetive, no voiceovers, etc. If KOTOR III takes their time, even if it costs more and takes much longer, it'll pay off cuz more people will like it, it'll get a higher rating, and it'll sell better. Some KOTOR fans are iffy about buying the next one cuz the second one was horrible in the glitch department. So I say the ultimate solution to making a better game is to read this boards and take their time.
