Patch problems

I don't know why but my computer can run the game perfectly but when I try to install the patch it doesn't work... It says are you sure you want to upgrade titan quest, I click yes and it closes... i don't understand, please help me

Does it pop up a message before it closes and say "there is an error with titan quest" or something like that?

No, nothing... It just closes... without any notice... And if I tried to upload the patch by the game in the upgrade section, it dowloads it, closes the game, opens the window asking if I want to download, like I said before, I click yes, it closes without downloading and the game reopens itself but still 1.01 version...

Have you tried doing it manually? There's a link here for it, and that seems to work for everyone.

Hmm, well have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling then applying the patch? It would be good if you also used something as RegCleaner to erase the registry values after the uninstall so that you can have a clean install.

Won't I lose my characters if I reinstall ?

Not if you back them up. No matter where you installed if you go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\(Your Name)\My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest

there is a SaveData folder, which you can back up totally. It should contain the data on all your characters.

Blank windows, no update?

Hey. I'm having an update issue too. I dl the update (either via the game interface, the official link, or various mirrors) and no matter where I get it from, I get a window that pops up..with no text. I play the guessing game choosing one of 2 blank buttons, and when I choose the 'right' one, it gives me 2 more windows with no text..and no update installed.

I've dled and redled this patch everywhere. I've reinstalled the game. I am at a complete loss as for what to do! The game runs perfectly on my system..but without the patch, I can't play online.

Anyone have any more fun suggestions?

exactly the same thing to me silly, all blank, guessing game, then at the end that some error(cant know which, no text) and it doesnt update..

I have tried to update too. I can update to 1.11 or 1.15, when I try to go past that, I get an error that says Titan Quest installer has encountered a problem.

HELP.

I tried doing them one at a time. I finally got it to work. A buddy was able to update and I copied his Creatures and items files from the resource folder and it all went well.

sorry if anyone considers this necroposting, I'm having a similar problem. I can't patch the game at all, I'm stuck at 1.01, even doing what was suggested above and doing one patch at a time, I start the patching program and almost as soon as I do the program crashes with no explanation or anything

can anyone here help?

no crack, I finally got it to work after uninstalling it again and reinstalling it, then patching it before I played
