Playing KotOR co-op would seriously cut down on the overall enjoyment. Who would make the decisions regarding quest siding, alignments, and conversational options?

I agree here. A game this open-ended won't be a suitable candidate for co-op play. Imagine if player 1 is the main character where he/she has to do all the talking and decision making while all player 2 does is tag along for the ride. That doesn't sound like fun to me.

I want a deeper story, something like was attempted in K1, but with a more feasible ending, along with more hidden Dialogue options/Quests relating to it.

I don't mind if the dialogue is long or short but just make sure its at a logical pace. I don't fancy some person talking on and on while the other just stands there and listens and when its his/her turn, he/she will drone on and on too. Really irks me when I see that in any game aside from RPGs.

And I have a certain thought that might come as a shock to some if not most who played both KOTORs. What about ditching the D20 system used in both KOTORs' combat? Well, they could still keep the turn-based aspect of the game but what do you think of this proposition?

Getting rid of the D20 system? In favour of what? That system is what attracted half of the players to KotOR.

i played alot of SWG for about a year now and i though tthat it captured the essence of SW very well. i want to have free controll of my character to attack, maybe like using X and Y to atk(Triangle and Square on PS2). i also want to be abloe to play your charater from a kid to an adult. kinda in the same sense as fable but a bit more in depth. i would also like to see a twist that reall ywould intrigue me like that at the end of the game u find out that you are having a son, and yur wife names it Quigon Gin,or Mace Windu, signalling the start of the more recent generation of SW characters. i am also very suprised no1 put onlin eplay would that be fun?

is there something i love about K1/2 is it the fighting system i mean just look it make it so cool...in SWJA you run aroud a map just hitting others ... the Kotor fighting system makes it cool, like defending your self with your lightsaber/vibroblade, it looks real like in the movie..

im i the only one who want the old fighting system or..... :(

I'm the same, I'd like them to stick with the same fighting system just as long as they improve the party AI or at least let you have more say over its configuration, such as being able to customise your own scripts.

Well, I was thinking more of the combat system used in quite a number of turn-based RPGs like Grandia, Final Fantasy or something along the lines.

Being a D&Der, half of the reason I chose KOTOR over other games that I could have bought, was the implementation of the D20 system (To a certain degree). I'm familiar with it and I like it alot more than any others that are used (In - as you mentioned - Final Fantasy, for example), so I think that changing the combat system could discourage other people like me from choosing K3 over an alternative game.

You're totally correct and I agree with you here. Throwing away the d20 system will alienate those who have played D&D and D&D-based RPGs (like the Baldur's Gate series and Neverwinter Nights for example). The fact that quite a number of RPGs for the PC platform are heavily influenced by D&D and its mechanics, is also a great factor here. Well, I hope the developers will find a way as to how to improve the overall gameplay mechanics of the game within the d20 system.

The first time I've played KOTOR, I was overwhelmed by the terms and the system used in that game since I've never touched D&D in my life and never played any game based on the D&D system (not even AD&D). Left me scratching my head all over trying to figure out how it works. I even need to contact my friend who have prior knowledge on D&D to help decipher some of the terms and the mechanics used in the game. Embarrasing, isn't it?

Well, it happens to everybody. I remember before I had even started playing P&P, trying to get my head around Baldur's Gate One, needless to say it was quite a challenge. However, once one gets used to it, they usually recognise how great the system is, and realise how worthwhile learning it was.

And doesn't AD&D mean Advanced Dungeons and Dragons?

Anyway, enough on that tangent. What do you think about having a droid as the main character for KotOR III? Sure it'd never work with the whole Jedi/Force deal, but it's an interesting idea that i've been toying with in my head. Droids were seriously underpowered and consequently underused in both KOTORs - mostly because of the fact that they couldn't become Jedi, or weild melee weapons - but I think it'd certainly be interesting to have to play as one. Maybe not as good as a proper Human Jedi character, but fun for a while, all the same.

IMHO, again...

I have to say that I really like the fighting style. I tend to get pukey with first person games, hence, Kingdom Hearts II is the first game I actually finished. Also, I'm not as young as I used to be so just mashing down the X button can give quite the cramp but it was ok in Revenge of the Sith. I am starting to play my first Final Fantasy and that fighting style seems ok although, the ones in KOTOR make the scenes go a little faster because you can set up four attacks at a time and we all know I'd rather spend time talking to the characters than all the fighting.

As far as characters...I loved HK-47, of course, T3, Jolee, Bao-Dur, Mandalore, Atton, Mission, and Mira. Carth, of course, because him and Revan are in love and they better still be in KOTOR III! Bastila died in my game so I guess I can't have her back, :( , I thought all her whining was funny and I wish I could have kept her, maybe in my next game.

No spaceship battles like in Battlefront, they make me sick and I can't do them...so disappointing.

Master and Apprentice

(sorry for my yoda english  I'm working on it.)

I would love to have in the next game a story of M&A, like Gon Jinn/Kenobi, Kenobi/Anakin, Kenobi/Luke or Sidious/Maul - in which a wise Jedi Master (or a Sith Lord) teach a young padawan the mysteries of the Force. Nevertheless, it would be very intresting and cool to start the game AS THE MASTER, with almost all the powers and fighting styles available. The memory lost scenario is out of hand (it would be the third time they will use it) and also beganing the game as a padawan it will be just as Jedi Academy game. So why don't be a Master since the first step? The RPG character development could be put to another level - instead of learning the basics like force push and how to handle a lightsaber; you could be challenged to find deeper mysteries of the Force, with Prophesies and older stories, with the Living Force (the semi-rebel kind of philosophy Qui Gon Jinn talk about it), the powers and attributes which will makes you a candidate for the Jedi Counsil and so on...

Also, even if having a big party helps you a lot in certain situations, it is a litlle out of logic to have 6 or more people in your team and to use only 2 in crucial missions - just think about it, when your friend is in deep trouble, how can you stay on the ship and just wait for him to return??? This is, of course, a game limitation, it will be very weird in the gameplay to have many peoples arrounds you - but this can be solve with ellegance. I'm thinking about KOTOR II timeline when your character and 2 party members came in a mission with you, while other 3 gone in a linked mission. Then, all of em reunite on the Ebon. Also, I don't see the point in having a band with me all over the galaxy :D This is not a thing specific to Star Wars movies. There, most of the action is in 2 or 3 people, even if there are many others characters interconected to the same action (but in a different way, following different courses - like the ending battle of Episode I).

In my opinion, a very good&deep story is better than an eye-candy graphic. So, I choose the story. I also would like to have an almost no-limits land to explore on each planet, I mean a huge world like the one from San Andreas.

Last, but not the least, I would like my characther and the party members (if not all NPCs) to have more Star Wars appearances - hairstyles, cloth vestimantions etc. Playing Kotor I and II, I had the feeling that I play a good game, I really love them, but I didn't necessary have the all-time impression that I am in the Star Wars galaxy (even by given the fact that the action is set in the very old Republic). In some dozes, even the SW humor is very welcome in KOTOR 3, together with epic huge battles, a decent lovestory and much-much lightsaber combat movement (I have in mind Obi/Ani duel where we see almost all you can do with a lighsaber).

Speaking of the duels, I also like them to be more respectfull to the movies. I mean, in the Kotor I and II (and also in the Jedi Academy and Kyle katarns 2 games) you have A LOT of Siths to provoke or have to fight. They are simply too manies and the duels are short and they have no feeling. In all the movies, a DUEL is a critical point in the plot, it doesn't just ends in less than 30 seconds, but it have an own little story - the fighters are making an appearance (think of the moment when the doors are open and Darth Maul enters in Ep 1), the fighters prepares for it (they eventually strip some clothes), they tease eachother, use few Force Powers and only in certain points of time (not just like in Kotor 2, where Kreia, for instance, jus keep use and use almost all the powers! instead of true lightsaber fighting), they die in a dramatic way. I would love to see all of these in KOTOR 3, I would love to have real duels (not just with the ending boss, but all over the game), even if this mean to have few duels during the game. (or not! :D )
The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities, some consider to be ... unnatural!

It wouldn't be too bad though most people will still prefer droids to be a party member rather than the main character. Speaking of droids, I would like to improve upon that idea. What about if droids have the ability to wield lightsabers or even melee weapons? Think General Grevious (I know he's not 100% droid but he's the closest example I can think of) who has the ability to wield lightsabers even though he's no Jedi. Maybe they could improve the flexibility of the droid by making it able to dodge blows and even blaster fire. Give it the ability to jump and perform deadly attack manoeuvres. Now that's what I want in a droid even though he can't use force powers, at least its lightsaber/melee skills will come in handy. :)

Well, they could make it like you can man the turret of a spaceship and let some other member pilot the ship or the other way round just like in some FPS games like HALO 1&2 and Battlefield series as an example. :)

I also agree with you here. It irks me to see other party members that you don't regularly use go to waste in your ship while you go fight with 2 other members whom you use often. I also had a thought here. Taking a page from the Grandia series and the Kingdom Hearts series, why not have just 3 members in your party and they travel with you wherever you go. When someone else want to join your party aside from the 3 members you have, they will be able to join but it will only be temporary. After you complete the additional member's mission, he/she will not be part of your team anymore and you will be back to your 3 members.

I'm still playing catch-up but I read this and had to respond.

Droids with Lightsabers?
Where do I start? Well the primary reason that droids can't use swords or lightsabers is because they lack the sentient reflexes. A droid can't use a sword because it can't think on that level. Droids are by design programmed, even in Star Wars they aren't sentient. Lightsabers are a whole different thing too. Lightsabers are the weapon of Jedi/Sith because it is a weapon of deadly power and requires someone tuned to the force to wield it. Droids can't feel the force and therefore can't wield a lightsaber.
Next, Grevious was a half-droid thing. He was trained in the Jedi arts by count Duku, and is then a Dark-Jedi or Sith but just barely. Also he was an attempt another 4000 years after KOTOR?
Bao-Dur: I think he wanted us to give up the Genreal to his poorly trained collection of bounty hunters.

Atton: Ah. well that would explain it. Which one do you want?

Bao-Dur: I'll take the stupid one who decided to threaten us rather than shoot us when he had the chance.
