Could you guys shed some light on the factors that determine when what items are dropped?
The reason I ask this is that in the short time that I've played TQ I've gathered 4 epic(blue/green) items (level 10 char), but my girlfriend -who's started playing later and has now nearly 'overtaken' me- has yet to receive a single epic item. We both play on the same computer taking turns.
Could this lack of items be caused because the characters exist within the same game (obviously not simultainiously), so that when you make an additional character (like my gf) no more epic/legendary loot is dropped when you reach a point a previous character has reached before you? Or is it just a random thing and i've gotten lucky 4 times.

Blue are epic items and purple are legendary items.
Rare items have more suitable stats for me than the epic/legendary ones I've found this far.

As far as i know, the droprate of Rare/Epic/Legendary Items is determined by your level and the monster you killed/chest you opened.
Then add a bunch of Luck and you have what is needed for an epic/legendary item drop
so when you found 4 epics this far and your girlfriend none, then you were more lucky and perhaps in the next days she will find 20 and you none. noone can say. You can enhance your chance of getting epics by killling bosses(like the Telkines) over and over again because they have a higher chance of dropping epics.
when you can find your first legendary item i don't now for sure, but i think it might be Typhon on normal difficulty can drop them.
Of Course it doesn't matter if you play with different chars. you can play the game over and over again with different chars and always find every item in the game (theoretically...remember the Luck

i have found loads of violet (legendary) stuff by doing typhoon runs on epic difficulty. my character for running is a level 53 soothsayer and there are usually 1-2 violet items for every 3 runs that i do. many of the items repeat. for example i have found 4 shields of korybantes and 3 rings of gaia. i don't know if character level determines the level of drop. my best find so far was a thunderbolt sword found in ramses tomb. it was dropped before i got to the telkine !
