How do you kill the Surgeon - it keeps summoning creepy crawly things that bring it's health back up ?

It is not possible to ignore the summons or at least I don't see how you could considering this is how it regenrates. I am having the same problem myself and had to take a break. From what I see there is nothing to be done with the pillars so the answer has to be in taking out the summons ... not that I've been able to do it so far, or not fast enough. But there has to be a trick to it. Anyone?
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.
I took out the surgeon without much trouble. I don't know what are you refering to when saying "summons regenerating his health". All he was summonning when I was against him was Bound Crawlers, that are relatively easy to kill and didn't seem to help him regen... Even if he did regenerate his health I didn't notice, probably because I used level 3 Elemental Rage and took him out quickly.
Anyway, my tactic was killing summons/attacking him/killing summons/attacking him. He didn't live to summon them a third time.

w00t?? no images in sig allowed?!?
He regens from the summons, if you concentrate on it alone it is near impossible to kill him at least from my experience. Anyway, killing off the summons worked - Bound Crawlers, it summons them - but I used powers on it, then killed off the summons, and repeat process. Works like a charm.

Familiar Surgeon
"Can ya help a fella out"
I cannot seem to beat the Familiar Surgeon. He spawns the slither demons too fast for me to do more that 30k dammage. Then he seems to suck hp's from the darn things. I even went as far as "auto piloting" and making the characters imortal. I left it running for 24hrs and got no where. not even a single xp.
How do you kill this thing?

I'm not sure why it get healed. I got the feeling it came from my characters death but I'm not sure at all. Another hypothesis is that it was periodical.
That said, without any mod used I could beat it. It took me a long time for the first but after it was easier.
I concentrated my atacks to hit it instead of hitting the little things arround and to not have any die. I also used intensively the powers and take care to improve hit power of a Sorceress and a Fist of Stone.
I bet you'll get a true answer in the faq pointed in the forum :

The expantion was a good experience, I haven't done all subquests nor seen all new henchmen and new pets but I enjoyed many changes in the games. I still regret that there's no difficulty setting even if I finish it without the feeling to have get a too powerfull team (unlike in DS2). Anyway that's boring that there's a level progression problem. I used a new character among the default offered, they are level 39 instead of level 44/45 for characters that finished DS2. But they end level 48 when at next difficulty mode they are expected to be level 41.

I had the same problem until I took the followng approach then he died within a couple of minutes:
1) focus IMMEDIATELY on the summonsed characters he generates and wipe them out - they are the source of his regenerated health
2) this gives you about 3-5 seconds to load all your powers on him and then keep hitting with your biggest damage weps and spells
3) as soon as more summonsed characters reappear, repeat the process (this will also accelerate power recovery)
BINGO!

spirit embrace- anti curse +resist spell, ancestral wrath- powers +recharge,
curse him with -resistances according to what type of dmg you deal most or steal spell to minimalise his dmg.
brutal attack, take aim, detonation, aether blast. one aoe left to kill crawlers when they start healing familiar.
there`s nothing more to do beside finding better gear vs him. i killed familiars in less than minute without problems and didnt notice his healing

Daspular the Surgeon
I know there a similar thread on the system but Note I have been having problems with this surgeon(alternative name B*****d). Every time i get his points down to 20,000 and he regenerates up to 28,000 and away we go again. For me this has ruined the expansion to the point I almost want my money back!! I damn will not get any more GPG games if these problems occur
. Good luck to anyone who has solved this horror of a problem b ut I have enough!

just finished BW with the party i converted from DS II
when i met the 1st surgeon my party was all lvl 46
dual wielding melee (myself), Deru as ranger/cm (44/33), Finala as cm and Taar as nm
it took me 2 tries to see for myself what i had to do
with both surgeons i did the stairs trick
the luring took some time but he must be at the stairs
sometimes things didn't work out and then i ran back
and started over again
once the surgeon was in place, i went around him (Wait mode) and started catching off the crawlers and hitting him all i could
hard and concentrated work
but seeing that he is going down, gradually but surely, makes it all worth
.... in the end
hope this helps and good luck
ps, bannock, what helped me most through DS II and BW was the smart retreat and attack tactic
one of my mages had an autocast spell (don't know which one hehe) that did damage over longer time, so after retreat i attacked an already worn out enemy

Hello,
to inquiring minds, sufferers of sophophobia, et al.
I don't rightly care if you still play this game or not, but I'm about to unload the answer to this Surgeon riddle in a manner which no other has even come close to describing. I found no helpful information here when I first came, however now I stand to offer you some. Listen closely:
Difficulty: Veteran - Multi-player ONLY
Setting: Surgeon should be on top of one of the idiot respawn stations closest the stairs (logic: this funnels the other idiots into a line which a single Waves of Force can take care of).
1) This applies to Multi-player only.
2) Get yourself a healer with these buffs (+Ice Damage [~94] + % Critical Hit Increase [194%]) and a massive melee attack man.
3) Next, find an incantation shrine and create a direct TP link to the Surgeon's layer.
4) Have the melee attack man recite the Greater Chant of Fighter Power (61) which enables continuous usage of their special attack for 75sec. You'll be using a Level 3 Brutal Attack/Waves of Force and need every second of it.
5) Jump back through the portals quickly, because travel time counts against you.
6) UNLOAD Brutal Attacks on the Surgeon by pressing 1 like a madman on the keyboard to speed up your attacks by not having to click the circle gem below! That is very important! When the little idiots respawn, angle yourself so that a single Waves of Force knocks them all out AQAP.
7) Repeat! If you fail, try, try again. This works. We finished with few seconds before the incantation expired and only on our second try of this strategy. (ALL DIFFERENT ATTEMPTS FAILED)
Specs:
(74) Nature Magic man with ALL skill points allocated to maximize Aquatic Affinity (30), Feral Wrath (28), Nurturing Gift (28)
(73) Dual-Wield crazed Melee man with ALL skill points allocated to maximize Dual-wield damage (22) and Deadly Strike (20) [Level 3 Brutal Attack and Waves of Force obviously, spitting 11-15K per Special Attack w/ buffs, if not more]
Pets allowed (e.g. Dire Wolf and Scorpion Queen thing)
Happy hunting.
