Inn Problem
Inn Problem
Anyone else had this problem?
I converted my character from DS2 into broken world and since I had beaten the game on vet a couple of weeks ago I jumped right into the BW map on vet difficulty. Well after a number of hours/days of playing normally with the party I converted I was out of storage (before DW came out I did a bit of prepping - feeding a bunch of mules till they had 3 inventory pages, selling old junk and making sure rare and set items were safely stored on the mules etc so my party had nothing but a couple healing pots and plenty of room for new loot).
So I went to the inn to pull out one of the pack mules I had stored there from DS2 to offload a ton of reagents. Well when I clicked on the add button I got Lothar. I thought 'That was odd, maybe I had misclicked on him instead of a mule, oh well back to the inn with you' and sent Lothar back and opened the inn again to find the list completely gone save for the Lothar I just sent back.
After I got over the shock I exited without saving and reloaded the game. Low and behold my inn was full again of all the mules and pets I had. I happily thought that I had hit a one-time bug and tried to add a different mule.
Lothar again.
At this time I realized something was seriously wrong. I opened the inn without sending Lothar back and yep, the lights were on but no body was home. So I exited without saving and reloaded again. This time I did some inspecting of the mules, characters and pets by selecting them and clicking on view. To my surprise instead of having the stats of the creature selected it was Lothar's name and stats that popped up. I viewed each and every thing in the inn - they all showed up as Lothar.
I backed up the save game and deleted it and started from scratch with a fresh conversion of my character from DS2. Went to the inn without delay, and boom - same problem.
I'm very not happy. I had a lot of nice junk on my mules, stuff that my new multiclass characters could use. I had a couple really nice pets that I upgraded painstakingly with only the right kinds of loot. I thought about going back into DS2 and getting the best stuff off my mules, but I already invested so much time into BW that it doesn't seem practical to start over again.

Exactly the same problem here. I lost mule with 3 pages of set and unique stuff and I`m pissed. Dont know what to do now. I have working save games but I wont play when I have to worry about my most valuable equipment.
my game- DS2 v2.2 without BW
oh and most interesting part is that in exchange for this mule i can hire 2 deru at the same time

this might help ya...
Ok dude, did u try to keep all ur stuff in the CHARACTERS, then CONVERT (coz obviously the pets give some bugs while converting (this is what i understand is ur problem *a mule problem*) ... so... I dont realy think u NEED all this 3 pages of stuff, just take whatever u need, if u do like me, keep every single set item make no sense u can see the complete sets in the walkthrough section of gamebanshee site... so basicly what u do is .... throw out all crapy potions and other USUALY NOT USABLE STUFF, fill ur mecs (including the guys in the INN) with the items that u claim "you need" from the mule, the stuff u can put in them is MORE THAN ENOUGH, then convert again ur character and see what will happend... i think that should work.... good luck !Exactly the same problem here. As I said before- "my game- DS2 v2.2 without BW". I dont have Broken World yet. This problem wasnt created by converting character. Stuff which i keep on mules isnt necessary to play but thats why im playing rpg. I collect stuff, in every other game there is some way to keep your eq and here its bugged. Now its sets and uniques what hurts me but I also lost a mature mule. I cant imagine loosing my party when doing secondary char quests :speech:
R.i.p.
I also don't have BW yet but also run on DS2 v2.2. I haven't encountered your spesific problem, although we have the same versions. The only weird thing that happens to me, is when you ask a character to join your party, you have to use the 'No thanx' option to actually let him join, because of the double characters in VET.
I've got 6 donkeys packed up with all kinds of stuff - like a display cabinet. It's nice stuff to have and to look at - like a treasure chest of sorts. To loose a donkey, is devastating to me, although I don't necesarily use the stuff. My deepest condolences:speech:

"AAAAAARRRGGGHHHHH" gurgles a Hulking Shail after being annihalated by a 52 000+ Brutal Attack, courtesy of Lothar, Level 84 Main Melee Fighter, Boss429 Party... Any contenders?
Thank you . Well I bought BW just in time to continue story on merc. Now Im act 2 vet. Apart from "Sartan problem" after converting to BW now I have no problems at all. pure DS2 was a mess. I had 2 deru and when choosing char pictures wasnt appropriate to it- like mule was eva, eva was finala etc. Sometimes I had missing characters but after save-quit-load there was someone else missing.
Anyway BW fixed my problems. First all Sartans so I send eva to inn and hired Sartan. Then I had clean card, no other chars apart from eva. I lost everything but there was only 1 mule which stuff i transered to chars. This loss is worth paying to play without problems now and party can be rehired

Cherry Picking B4 Converting
I cherry picked my inventory on my mule from DS II before I converted my party over. I didn't think that my mule would be included when I converted over and didn't want to loose all of my good equipment. I chose another character in it's place.
I started BW and it wasn't long before I regretted not having my mule. This game reminds me of Diablo II before the patch that increased the amount your chest would hold. There simply is not enough storage for all the reagents and equipment that is easy to access. I remember playing Divine Divinity and having storage all over the place. I had a cabin out in the middle of nowhere and went looking for storage containers carrying the large wooden barrels back to my home. I even decorated the place which was a tedious undertaking but I had a ton of storage. I never had any items disappear from the containers. This is the type of storage that the world of Dungeon Siege needs especially for all the reagents and different party member possibilities.
We simply need more storage in the DS world even if we have to store our stuff in different locations or they could take a cue from Divine Divinity.
They could also let us add a pet to our maxed member party !!!
