where are the alpine caverns?

hi i bought this game last week (dungeon siege) and ive been playing it for a while as ive got all the way up to glacern.

what i cant seem to find is the entrance to the alpine caverns, so i can find merik.

can anybody help as ive been back and forth from glacern to the cliffs at the end (even found a cave at the end, but its a dead end). please help as its driving me mad.

First, are you still down around the small cave that you found? This cave area is just an offshoot from the main path, and leads nowhere, except to the cave. So what you want to do, is return all the way back up to the cliffs.

It's snowing up there, and it can be a little hard to see (coolest effect in the game, if you ask me). Look for a narrow land bridge, leading off to the right of your screen. This takes you to the Ice Caverns. The door is initially closed, but will open for you when you get close.
