chance to finish secondary quests after the end of the game?

Post by JohnJSal »

Hi all. I just reached Zaramoth's Horns and I noticed that it's been a while since I've seen a teleporter. This leads me to think that maybe the end of the game is meant to be played straight through, which also makes me wonder (somewhat unrelatedly) if I will have a chance to finish up other quests after the game is over, or should I do that now before I start Zaramoth's Horns?

Thanks.

You can complete all the other quests after "finishing" the game if you like. On the other hand, completing them first will give you a chance to increase your skills and powers, collect some useful equipment and alternate your team members (some tasks need specific characters for them to work).

good point. i hear you can get 9 extra points or something crazy like that for doing all secondary quests...

i'll probably try to finish them all up before tackling valdis, but is it really the case that there are no more teleporters on zaramoth's horns? i didn't go too far because i wanted to stop for the night (and not have to go through it all again just in case)

just want to make sure i should start doing the other quests now before i get too deep into the mountain and can't turn back :)

Actually it depends.

The distance is not far away (the map is not big.)

Is just that, the places got lots of minibos. (Best place to farm "rare" items.)

So, It will stop you for advance forward fast enought.

And let everybody think it is a "long walk".

The very last teleporter is just before the Archmage. After that, there are no more.

Okay, what am I missing???

Just got the game. I've been saving as I go along but can't find any way to load a saved game. Am I just dim or what?

I'm guessin' here. Is the game kinda like Diablo II? i.e. waypoint to waypoint???

Thanks

There are teleporters that let you travel around easily, but they don't have anything to do with saving. When you save (ctrl s), you just preserve your status but will always start in the last town you were in when the game is reloaded. To reload, you just click "Continue" beneath the character portrait on the main menu screen. Hard to miss it. :)

The last teleporter is just before the Archemage, that's true - however you can always use the summon teleporter spell (except when you're approaching the Valdis arena at the end); you can return from town to this spot until you save the game when the summoned teleporter shuts down.

that's true, but i was thinking more along the lines of stopping and coming back later, because without teleporters you have to play it straight through without a break...but i just discovered two of them in zaramoth's horns, so it's not a lost cause :)
