As far as I know, there is no confirmation of World of Warcraft for the consoles. The latest news about World of Warcraft is the delay of the Burning Crusades expansion pack to January 2007.

Do you have any links to back it up with, other then speculations? (not that I want to play it on a console, if I even had a console, but unsubstantiated rumors is not nice to spread).
Yes, you'll 99.9999999% have to pay to play (of course).

Also, please post WoW related information in the WoW related forum ;)
I'm moving this thread for you, but in the future, please look over the subforums for the most appropriate location.

Hmm. I do recall coming across that article a while back. World of Warcraft for the consoles could be among the number of console titles in development, though it seems too early to tell at the moment. Even if it is confirmed, I'm not sure how will the controls for World of Warcraft will translate unto the consoles (either XBox 360 or PS3).

Well regardless of whether it's coming out or not for PS3, someone one will probably figure it out using linux and wine long before. They've already got YellowDog running on 'em days after release, and have got WoW running through Wine so put two and two together. WoW has modest system requirements and it's available one both PC and Mac I don't see why they'd release it for PS3. Probably so Sony could make some money from selling you a keyboard and mouse like they did for FFXI because they're losing money bigtime on console sales.

On the other hand they could do a campaign based console game based in the Warcraft world, which is probably more likely.
