Lower resist? Cant join? *spoiler*

Post by badboyd22 »

Hey,

I just finished normal mode in LOD and i noticed that in Nightmare, my resist are much lower.. like 20 lower on all...why is this? I am a barbarian and i have 35% resist from natural resistence skill.. and atm i have 19 lightning resist.. how is that possible?

And about open battlenet:
I tried to play with a friend, but i cant join his game, and he cant join mine, but we can both join some1 else his/her game.. Why is this?

I have searched the forum, but dont real knew where to look for, so i didnt find anything.

Thx,
cheers,

That's the point of Nightmare and Hell, simply to make the enemies much stronger and you much weaker. Dunno anything about the battle.net stuff though.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

First off some questions:

Do you both have the same game version? If you have the LOD version, and he has the original, that won't work right I do believe.

Are you both joining the same type of game? I haven't played in years, but if you joined a ladder game, you could only play those who joined ladder games as well.

Are you both using the same patch version? If not, you will have problems too.

You take a -50 res penalty in Nightmare, and an additional -50 in hell (totaling -100 in Hell). If you want better resists you simply must get better equipment.

Maybe both of you have a firewall which prevents both of you of hosting game? I had similiar problem with Civ3 with one of my friend, and it was caused by firewall which prevented both to host games...

That would explain why you can join someone other's game...

that's incorrect information, it's -40/-100.

But also, do note that as you progress through nightmare you get more powerful items. Nightmare you obtain what is known as Exceptional Items and Hell you obtain Elite items, all of which have sets and uniques to them.

I knew you would find exeptional and elite, but does that also mean they have higher resist than normal items? magic items that is.

srry for the noobish things :p

Oh most definitely, if you can find a socketed item, fill it with a nice runeword, you can get well over a bonus of +60-80 to each resistance with one single item.

Like someone else said, on nightmare the monsters are harder and you have a passive penalty to your resistances, on hell however you have a hell of a lot less resistance and thbe monsters are way harder.

Just imagine trying to kill Diablo on Nightmare. If you had full resistances he would be pretty easy.
