typhon (SPOILER)
Typhon farming
I'm lvl.45 hunter/defender, a mighty character if I may say so :mischief: anyway , I've fought typhon only on normal dif. so far, and it took me 1min10sec to pass olympus stage. didn't kill any monsters, just ran streight to titan and killed him in 15 sec  battle marker + frost shrine + art of the hunt + study pray + marksmanship. Man, that bow fires more arrows than AK47 bullets per min the only weakness I've noticed so far is that I need to carry whole lotta potions - 50 life / 50 energy - and I drink alot hit and run is the only way to stay alive. Haven't met Typhon on epic, but it's gonna be soon (in China right now) and I'm looking forward to it... by the way, I prefere bow rather than spear... bow is for fighting - great weapon, and spear is for enjoying - especially if you get to use shield, like I do :mischief: but not suitable for the large groups of enemys. pardon my english, it's a bit rustySn0b wrote:My character is brigand (hunter/rogue) and I realy didn't have much problems killing Typhon. Combo of Mastery shrine + Battle marker + Blade honing + Lethal strike (lvl 4) and with good spear he was dead in 15-20 sec!!!
If you die, it's better to exit the game and try again (backup your save before Olympus run). This way you don't lose EXP, and you will allways be able to use shrines
If you're part of the problem, then you're not part of the solution!
I complete Legendary Typhon runs in about 3 minutes and use only 2 or 3 health potions... I do not know how you people think it is so unbalanced. My character is a hunter/rogue using archery skills. Those of you who are finding it takes you an entire half hour to complete a run perhaps do not know how to use your characters effectively.
I'm sorry but Typhoon is the hardest boss I've ever had to beat in a game. I'm Lvl 34 Summoner and I have 2 wolf pets, the Sylvan Archer, and a Earth Elemental that can take out the Telkines in about 30 Seconds. I can't even get Typhoon down the smallest bit. His attacks are continous and I can't even do a hit and run because he attacks so much and so fast.
I know people have said that my "build" isn't great, but how do I make it this far in the game and end up getting waxed so fast?

few easy ways to improve
1) check your skills. For a small fee you can re-arrange them for this one battle and then come back to your favourite build. When I had to face a certain undead king, I really changed my summoner to be anti-undead.
2) level up - if you can't hit him now, spend time time levelling up, getting stronger.
3) Look for better equipment - at level 37 you will be able to use Tyrvidar's Might. -25% damage from Titan's. Mine also has + lighting resistance. Farm Titan on normal level to get stronger.

space dog did you show us the build? cause we could see it we can really tell you whats the problem
by the way, the wolves are weak.. its already became a fact T_T"
also there is a way to kill typhon without getting one bit hurt bu it takes lots of time.. you can go to the stairs where typhon cant reach and go to him> shoot and go back to the stairs again and again, one time i ended up no potions with 30 life and it worked
for crutex: you are perfect.. hmm.. so?

Here's what my build looked like when I beat Typhon:

I think what I'll do is keep this build and as I level up, build my wolves and archer into this build.
This game is very flexible, I think it'll be around for a long time.
Sorry for the large screenshots. This was a quick post and I didn't have time to crop the images.

My first char was a melee type (warfare/spirit). Mainly, I was maxing out warfare skills but also put some in Spirit ( that slowing aura worked quite well and the anti undead thing too)
I got to Typh by lvl 35 or 36 I guess... what a Monster! Took me quite a lot of death ( but I found that quite funny in the beginning to see my poor little fellow getting crushed!) and a hell lot of potions ( more than 100 health) to get him.
Hit and run worked well... Ah, I must admit that I didn't know about the statues thing so Typh's life stealing got veeeeeery annoying. Guess that's what made him this hard.
I dropped that dear Spellbreaker and am currently trying the Oracle... I'm still in Egypt on normal but it's really easy. Hope Tyhp won't be too easy.
As for changing your build to get through a difficult boss, I totally agree! That's something great in TQ, being able to change you build.

included patch version for clarity on why Typhon is so hard
Patch Version: 1.20
First Time: 50mins., 12 deaths.
Lv 32, Warfare/Earth, Dual Wield.
And get this, I degraded myself to using a bow to defeat Typhon. To hell with my melee skills. LOL. It felt like a knock to my character build. I was like WTF after my first few swings on him. Now that I know that Typhon is suppose to be badass to melee characters, I don't feel that bad for using a bow to defeat him. LOL.
I wanted to keep my original build and not have to rearrange my skills (purist).
I'm now Lv 43, and I'm still a little scared of going back to face (normal) Typhon. Well, maybe I'm not so much as scared as I just figure that the equipment in late Eygpt (epic) is probably going to be a lot better than facing (normal) Typhon again.
Question^ Can you get Lv. 35-Lv45 Blue Uniques from Typhon (normal), or am I better off farming the 2nd Telkin in Egypt (epic)?

hmm, that's strange.
If Typhon is supposed to be such a hard to kill character for melee, I guess they forgot to include warfare/defense combo in that list.
When I got to Typhon on normal, I was I think lvl 30 or something, not sure, maybe even 28 or 29, but that don't matter.
fact is, when ya have ancestral guardians and colloussusform, typhon is not hard at all, you can smack him pretty silly with those things.
Shield charge and batter do the trick quite nicely. best thing is, when in collossusform, all other skills work as well, so you do uberdamage when in that form.

can't beat Typhon
my character is a lvl 34 Spellbreaker too, but after about twenty deaths, i'm ready to give up my futile attempts to beat Typhon. i just can't do it! i've changed weapons, rings, skill points, etc., but no success. i can't even destroy the statues he uses to draw strength--i've struck them from all angles and haven't seen any positive effects.
any suggestions are welcome.
thanks.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but if you have problems with Typhon, delete your character and start over. Typhon is a cakewalk, he always has from v1.01 to v1.20. I can straight up tank Typhon, and stay there, potioning through his instant-kill attacks, even though usually I kill the weakling so fast he doesn't even have time to use them. I can also rape Hydra, Talos, and Manticore the same way, and Talos is resistant to my attacks!
How do I do it you ask? Simple. The right combination of HP, Resistances, and DPS. The only mob in the game that gives me any **** whatsoever are the liches in Wusao that seem to always bypass my defenses. But a poisoned flurry of throwing knives and a warwind or a shield charge and they're dead.
The advice I offer you against Typhon though, Do not run around, he already has "super attacks", but if he breathes his fire breath on the statues he will absorb a new attack from it. The statues take forever to chop down aswell, and chances are he'll come by and get a free power because you lead him right to the statue. Just run straight in an engage, if you use summons grab the mastery shrine. And have plenty of health. Good luck

i finally did it, using a lot of patience and one more reallocation of skill points based on this posting, http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/titan ... post890533.
also, i made another trip to the Merchant of Tsongmo Peak, who sold me a piece of jewelry to add 1 to all warfare skills, which along with 3 parts of the Imperial Raiment, helped me defeat Typhon at long last. the Embodiment of Archimedes' Mirror (1/3) added to a really good shield (25% Chance to Block 229 Damage), was a factor too.
the first time Typhon’s essence was popped, 2 blue + 1 green items appeared, immediately providing my char. a major power boost. the second and third trips to Mount Olympus were largely a waste, offering only exp. points and $$.
much time and effort went into playing TQ, but it was worth it! thanks to everyone for making this forum a great place for help & info.
cheers!

hmm , i stopped playing TQ for a while , i saw i posted 6 months ago how easily i beat typhon ...
i am now a lvl 29 def/warfare , with decent equipment , and cant get him below 95 % ...
i used to pwn him easily with a worse build than i have now ...
he has way more attacks than in the first version of the game as well ...
and problem is , i cant seem to attack the statues ... i cant even target them ... so thats not an option ... perhaps my lvl is too low , but if thats not the case , i dont have a clue how to beat him ...

Typhon not easy, but doable
You've got to expect Typhon to be a hard fight -- he's the ending boss of the whole original game. He beat me twice really quickly, while I tried to find out what was even in the arena. I finally got him, but it took awhile.
Normal mode, lvl 32 Brigand. I used a bow, and about 25 health potions (and some energy potions), running in a circle around the arena for 15 mins. before I finally wore him down. Stop, shoot a couple arrows, run some more. The only one-shot he had on me was the meteor shower -- what a surprise that was the first time! But you watch for the shadows of the incoming, and you can run out from under it. Didn't drop anything except Yellow items.
