Please, everybody, read the "Am I the only lonely BG gay player" in the BG2 forum, and tell me I read the last message wrong!

Hmm. Buck didn't seem to be upset, but the fact that he stepped in at all is strange. It's possible the poster was trolling for controversy... but it did seem sincere enough (at least up to that point) to me to be beyond criticism.
In other news, I think you can alter player names, portraits, and voices; and in effect put together any type of romance you want. I was just barely too mature to try out a hot lesbian romance

Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time
I didn't like a few members made fun out of him/topic. I don't think it was the original post which was problem (unless you are ultra conservative), but those other posts which were troubling...
It's a shame, really.

I really don't believe Buck would close a thread just because of a person's sexual perference. I believe he did it because of the post some would have posted....It's bad to say but some people are cruel. What someone decides to do with thier life isn't any of my business...IMO and I don't see where it's anyone else's.

I have read several posts in the BG2 forum from people who have used the romance fix and played the lesbian romances, and these topic were not closed down.
I strongly disliked that some people made fun of the original posting. But I don't understand why the thread was closes instead of asking the other people not to post there if they don't want to discuss this specific topic.

I know there are some parents with children reading there, some people have said so explicitly. But why should people complain more about a discussion of homosexual romance that they should on the clearly sexual content in postings about the romances in general? I really must miss something out.Originally posted by Darkpoet:

The whole thing felt like a pretty obvious troll. Assuming a player is homosexual, why should they need to have an all-male party? The two conditions are not continguous. Many homosexuals are perfectly happy among both sexes (and some prefer to be surrounded by the opposite sex). My brother-in-law, on the other hand--red-blooded Irish sexist that he is--while strongly hetereosexual, would have preferred an all-male group simply because he thinks women are a second and frequently inferior species.
It seemed to me that if the topic's creator had been sincere, he/she would have been harranguing for a same-sex relationship, rather than an all-male party. In short, it felt to me like an attempt to stir up trouble--which it did, particularly when one jerk brought in DP's name.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

The post put up as a reaction to Lee's was extremely frightening. Thanks to Buck for dealing with it so swiftly.
However (I'm going to get into trouble here, I just know I am...), regarding parents reading the forums with their children (of unknown ages): parents should monitor things BEFORE the kids see them. Forum monitors are not psychic and they can only deal with such topics after they've been posted. Parents should realize this and be more careful in the first place, rather than blindly opening up whatever forum/thread. It's a little late to shut the door when the horse is already out of the barn (fond of that cliche today...).
Just MHO...I welcome correction from any parents out there.
