Isn't there an in-game joke about how you never need to reload in KOTOR2 on Dxun?DesR85 wrote: Oh, and one more thing, I would like to see a reloading animation for rifles as well. It wouldn't look logical to see someone who keeps on firing a gun without reloading.

Can't quite recall but I think I ever heard of that joke somewhere before, though I can't remember at which part of the game. Anyway, it would be a nice touch and indeed logical to see this sequence after emptying the whole clip.bigredpanda wrote:Isn't there an in-game joke about how you never need to reload in KOTOR2 on Dxun?

Info on Revan
I found some info on Revan!!! On wikipedia it says that the Canonical version of Revan is male. It did not say what path Revan chose Canonicaly. Though do to much controversy over the decision, they MIGHT change it.
For those of you that do not know what canonical is (actually Star Wars Canon is the official term), it's them continuity (don't think i got the spelling right) of the Star Wars universe. In simpler terms, it is the official information that they will use in other Star Wars franchises. I think i got it, but if any of you understand and can put it any simpler, please do so. And the person incharge of what is Canonical and what is "non-canonical" is a Lucasfilm official and the person who maintains the continuity of the entire star wars universe, by the name of Leland Chee.
I also found another tid bit, Revan's holocron: "Revan had been a A TRUE SITH LORD, unlike the simpering Masters who bowed to Kaan and his Brotherhood." This also stated that the holocron was found 2,000 BBY (2000 years before the battle of Yavin, also known as Episode VI Return of the Jedi). So if Revan's Holocron said he was a True Sith Lord, that would mean he was a True Sith, so i predict that Revan in K3 will be with the True Sith if not they're lord. This is also Canonical information.
The starwars.com is the official site of the Star Wars universe. Wikipedia said this, "The Expanded Universe (also known as the EU) encompasses all of the officially licensed, fictional background of the Star Wars universe". The expanded universe can be found at starwars.com/databank, you can also find official information on the movies too.

I'm afraid I can't really get so hung up on what's "canonical" and what's not. The brilliant thing about KOTOR2 was that it was aware of the different choices you might have made in KOTOR. If a third game was to come out and say, "yes, you might have done that, but the correct answer was..." it would ruin it. That's why talking about what;'s canonical and not with regard the main characters of KOTOR doesn't make sense in the way it does to talk about Luke Skywalker or Kyle Katarn.

I was just posting some information i found on Revan. Personlly i'm not a DS player (sometimes i play DS with male and female), and i would rather have Revan on my side then having to go against him The canonical information is what they use in other franchises of the star wars universe (books, comics, movies etc...). But your right, they should not bring in the canonical information in K series, because that would damage the choices system. However just because you make Revan the bad guy doesn't mean that woud damage the choices system.bigredpanda wrote:I'm afraid I can't really get so hung up on what's "canonical" and what's not. I think Westwood ever did that for their sequel, Yuri's Revenge by starting off from the Allies victory over the Soviets instead of the other way round. I know the circumstances are slightly different but it is similar to the idea of making the KOTOR series follow the canonical history. As what I mentioned previously in another thread, this will give the developers less headaches and much more room for expansion compared to starting off from different endings from the previous games.marten0305 wrote:I was just posting some information i found on Revan. It would just seem very odd, considering the way KOTOR2 was handled.
In one sense, though, KOTOR2 did presuppose a number of things - there was a "proper" dark side and "proper" light side way. In other words, you could finish the game as DS but not have done all the things/killed all the people that K2 presumed a DS Revan had done. But there's a huge gap between having that sort of presupposition, and presupposing that Revan was male, DS, or whatever - especially when, to reiterate, choice is one of the selling features of the KOTOR franchise.

Well they already made Revan a male canonicaly and Revan's Holocron said he was a true sith lord. So it seems they already chose Revan's fate for the continuity of the star wars universe and whatever happens i the game is not canonicaly right, unless they make Revan a True Sith in K3. And it doesn't say anything about the exile that makes the exile a male/female, DS/LS, who he killed, etc..., in the Star Wars Canon.bigredpanda wrote:It would just seem very odd, considering the way KOTOR2 was handled.

I wonder if having unlockables will be a good idea for the next KOTOR. I admit that I'm not into re-playing games but I wonder if having unlockables will entice people to re-play the game (quite a number of action games like Tomb Raider: Legends have unlockables like extra ammunition as an example). Just a thought.

I don't know what kind of unlockables there would be. I'd have to disagree with you. Maybe hidden items that you can find, but unlockables would make things unavailable to people who don't like to play a game more then once. The only time i like playing more then once, is when there is multiple endings.DesR85 wrote:I wonder if having unlockables will be a good idea for the next KOTOR. p.s. i hate unlockables in all games.

Well, unlockables like getting some lightsaber or a projectile weapon that have a 100% accuracy as an example (Not those types where you have to get something in order to unlock some special content. Kind of dislike those). At least it will make replaying a game much more enjoyable (aside from multiple endings).marten0305 wrote:I don't know what kind of unlockables there would be. P.S. I actually hate multiple endings in any game I play, to be honest.

See that should be something you find in a secret place on a planet or maybe even a secret planet. Unlockable planets wouldn't be too bad, some secret planets that contain good items and some side quests.
I would think if K series had no multiple endings it would have the LS ending and also follow the LS path. So i think the multiple choice in K series is a good thing.

I was thinking more like able to unlock those weapons I mentioned after playing through the game but the idea of being able to find them in a secret place in a planet or in a secret planet does sound a lot better.marten0305 wrote:See that should be something you find in a secret place on a planet or maybe even a secret planet. Considering that the KOTOR series are open-ended games, the developers would have to include that anyway. As for KOTOR 2's ending, I suspect that what Obsidian had in mind is an open ending (the part where the Ebon Hawk flew off into the distance). Must be the fact that it's easier to come up with that ending than to create separate endings for either LS or DS.marten0305 wrote: I would think if K series had no multiple endings it would have the LS ending and also follow the LS path. There is this certain grenade mechanic used in Full Spectrum Warrior where you can adjust the distance on how far do you want to throw the grenade. I think this will be much better than targeting a single enemy and throwing it at his/her direction since they tend to move around a lot. At least you can deal with melee enemies that run towards your direction (aside from those wielding blasters).

Perhaps even, a Grenade-throwing skill, so as that when you improve in skill level you have a greater chance of scoring a hit on a moving target, damage levels could even improve. In the beginning of K1 and K2 grenades were a very useful addition to the arsenal, but as the game progressed and you began facing more melee enemies, and far stronger ones, grenades just became obsolete - only good for flogging off for a little extra cash.DesR85 wrote:There is this certain grenade mechanic used in Full Spectrum Warrior where you can adjust the distance on how far do you want to throw the grenade. With things like a grenade, or even thrown weapons skill (Mira), bounty hunter and other ranged classes could become a lot more feasable.
Rebel in decibels, against - what? The same-old, whatever they've got.
Not a bad idea. To add to that idea, the user will be able to time the throw more accurately (and explode at the right time) the higher the user skill's is in grenade throwing. And I have the same thoughts as well regarding grenades in both KOTOR 1 and 2. It is useful in the beginning but the further you progress, there is not much use for them.RBitG wrote:Perhaps even, a Grenade-throwing skill, so as that when you improve in skill level you have a greater chance of scoring a hit on a moving target, damage levels could even improve.
