LS or DS what would you pick?
In order to more fully experience the game, IMO, the three paths should be available: Light Side, Dark Side, and Neutral. As far as what suits my own personal inclinations, I would say the Light Side without question. However, traveling the Dark Side path is one way to experience a different game, and for that I think it's worth doing. I think a possible KOTOR III should offer more in the way of unique experiences for LS, DS, and Neutral Jedis.

I Know that would be the coolest scence I am never dark side or light side just in the middle the hole gamex_ray619 wrote:Yea Iwould like to see some cinematics for the gray side to cuz it would make me wanna play it 3 times through instead of just the 2 times cuz I'm bored by the second through and plus if you do choose to play neutral by the end of the game you have to end up choosing between light or dark side anyway. But for the person above me that hasnt played KOTOR 2 on the dark side yet the ending cinematic won't be any better, they both sucked. The first KOTOR's cinematics were so much better.

Gray side all the way!
I've been an LS follower for a while but the more I think about it, no side is right. The Jedi are fools who restrict their students. The Sith are fools who do nothing but kill mindlessly. The Gray Jedi know how to use the DS. What if there was a medical patient whos heart stopped and you had the chance to save him using an electrical shock? Think of all the times the Jedi code stopped Jedi from killing people who would go on to destroy planets and make slaves of innocent people. I think the game should definately have a choice to be neither and stand alone for a while, then end up meeting people slowly who join your party or something like that.

DS or LS
I think the way both are used in the games is silly. There are times when I intend to be nice, and I give a "tough love" answer, and get DS points. There are other times when I intend to lie or cheat people, say friendly things to keep them from realizing what I'm up to, and I get LS points. In general, the LS choices are a lot more rational. The DS choices are most often ridiculous.
As for the powers, I think they are roughly about equal, but the DS attacks are more fun. If you're a consular, it doesn't matter. You can use them both, anyway ... you rarely run out of FP after 12th level or so, anyway.

The other thread is closed so i will post here i think the dark side is the one and only way to go.
I dont actually pick i side i like to answer everything as i would if i reley had those powers and just see where it takes me

I wouldnt like to choose in the start either. The KotOR games are supposed to make you dwindle (dunno how to write it) between LS and DS; sure you can if you start DS or LS but it wouldn't be the same. If I chose DS in the start I would probally play that way through whole game which would probally make it more boring.

I agree with you. Being able to choose your path (LS or DS) at the start will take away the open-ended factor of the game. It reminds me of quite a number of strategy games that gives you the option to choose your side/faction. I would much prefer if you do good deeds to earn your way to LS and the opposite for DS, just like how most open-ended RPGs are designed in the first place.DarthZ wrote:I wouldnt like to choose in the start either. ''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
Pretty good idea. It would be good if the two parties overlapped; for example, if you're a light side jedi you could be with your master, and have a story line involving a sith master and some unknown apprentice (who is unknown for most of the story, appearing at the end). Similarly, a sith character follows his master, and interweaves with a Jedi Master, and hear of a bright young jedi (or something). At one point, the character's master dies (Jedi defending the character if LS, the character murders the Sith master if DS), so they have to go solo. Also, the character can be enticed into changing sides.

I'd pick darkside, I find it more fun to play, the only downside I can see is the whole greyish pale deathly look you get when your completely evil which I didn't see anakin all paleish when he fell.

Yes, that's something a SW expert might be able to explain to me: in the Return of the Jedi, we see Vader and the Emperor, and they're both grey and distorted etc. So the games suggest that if you go DS, your apeparance changes. Then, in Revenge of the Sith, the Emperor goes like that because of the reflected force lightning, and Anakin is burned... consistency?Darth_Juro wrote:I'd pick darkside, I find it more fun to play, the only downside I can see is the whole greyish pale deathly look you get when your completely evil which I didn't see anakin all paleish when he fell.

yeah, they were both distorted after what a jedi did to them, not because they were evil lol. Also I'm the kinda guy that likes to play as a female character for obvious reason so I don't really want to see a chick with pale chapped grey skin. sorry if this strayed from the topic.

I'd want a 'gray side' line as well, though it's similar to the light side in many ways, mainly because I naturally play as neutral, I dislike the way LS and DS are so clear cut and obvious, I also disagree with the play style of the dark side, I'd want to play a cunning Sith, not one that kills everyone in their path.x_ray619 wrote:Yea Iwould like to see some cinematics for the gray side to cuz it would make me wanna play it 3 times through instead of just the 2 times cuz I'm bored by the second through and plus if you do choose to play neutral by the end of the game you have to end up choosing between light or dark side anyway. it is so much more fun to go around killing everything- leveling is easier too when darkside/ i play both just to see how it turns out differently- i just started original kotor and im level 10 dark side most of the way and i have yet to leave taris, i completed every quest on taris all the bounties all the fights except i messed up 1 choice in the undercity village
