Chosing melee please help me!

Post by Lasiurus »

Hi everyone, after playing some time with my Conqueror It started getting boring , dont get me wrong the class is amazing but its very selfsuficient. I dont think the game needs me hahaha.

So anyway, using the Titan Calc I checked for different melee classes searching for something that can use a shield. To put it simple, I reduced all teh melee possibilities to 5 which I found appealing. I would like to know your opinion, since you hve probably lot more experience than I do in this game. Here's teh list.:

Assassin
Slayer
Corsair
Warden
Brigand

So far the brigand seems like the best but I guess Spears would be the most fitting for it. I didn't chose classes mixed with magic skills like earth or storm because I haven't found them very good, but thene again I'm just a noobie.

Please give me a hand.
THX in advance.

Those are all good builds. I played warden and corsair before and had fun. Warden in particular is an amazing class. One point you mention is shield...
Assassin usually uses dual wield unless shield and spear. This is because warwind can be used to spread poison and warhind hits with each weapon on dual wield. Warwind also hits twice with a spear since those can't be dual wielded (kind of odd). Brigand is the most DPS although slayer is maybe higher if you use a thorny maul and another good dual wielded piercing weapon. Corsair when you batter an enemy the batter and poison slow them by a LOT. Great defense.

Thanks! I didn't know the warwind thing. I guess I¡ll test them all to see which one fits me better.

PS.: One thing, just came up to my mind, all bonuses which add % piercing damage are aplyed only to spears and bows or something else???

Well, basically you can look at any weapon and tell if it has piercing on it.

Like a dagger would say something like "15% piercing" which means that 15% of the damage you do to a monster will be piercing damage and not just normal damage. Thus, if a weapon doesn't say piercing on it at all, it will not have piercing damage and any relic or item that gives bonus's to piercing damage will not apply to that weapon whatsoever.

Thanks. The I take that probably as one progress in the game spears tenhd to have greater piercing bonuses, as well as daggers?

Sorry for the constant questions is just that I've made about 6 characters up to level 16. For testing. And I want to make sure that I chose a character which can survive in higher difficulties.

As I just said, you can go in the game and look for yourself. All the weapons are there with every bonus there is to it.
