How to lower physical damage taken?

Post by Cabranth »

Hi.. :)

I just finished T.Q. and started I.T. I'm playing a dual-wield Conquerer with a combined armor of 283. I've played less than 20 minutes in the expansion, and I have already died more times than in the entire T.Q. game. All of a sudden I'm taking insane amounts of physical combat damage. Even the little monsters are chopping me up. The bosses are crushing me like a grape.

What's the deal? Does the version update that comes with I.T. increase physical damage that monsters do? Do monsters in I.T. just do that much more damage? Does their piercing damage go way up?

What can I do to reduce the amount of physical combat damage I'm taking? I know I could raise my combined armor, but does the combined armor # really reduce the chance to be hit in combat, or is it just a relatively meaningless number like in Diablo 2? I'd rather spend a couple of weeks farming for updated (and upgraded) armor, than dying every 5 seconds.

Thx. :)

Dunno what to say right now, it's prolly your equipment and/or skills.

But yeah, Immortal Throne, the 5th act was designed with a bunch of seriously overpowered enemies. Like the mob of onslaught dual wielding demon things. NOT fun to deal with really.

I think both IT and 1.30 increased damage monsters deal. On the other hand armor is better. I would try to farm for some better armor. Also look for defensive gear ie damage reduction, dodge attacks, dodge projectiles, defensive ability, % armor etc. With farming at the least you can have all decent greens with full on relics/monster charms in them. Hopefully some good blues too and later purples. Max out dodge with your conquerors skills.
