I am currently in the process of revamping my champion. I originally went the dual weapon route with him. So here is my (quite possibly stupid) question. If I go the onslaught route what do I do with my Champions other hand??? (Pause for laughter) Can I go ahead and equip a shield??? The reason I ask, is because some of the posts I have read almost make it sound like there is no point in using a shield if you don't have a defense mastery. ...or should I go ahead and put at least one point in the dual weapon slot so I can go ahead and use it?
Hope this made sense...
Thanks!!!

Shield is good because it blocks attacks and stonewalls them unlike armor. There is a hidden cooldown to block another attack with your shield, however. Shields also have resists usually which become important in higher difficulties especially.
Dual wield does a little more damage. Also you have two weapon slots and get the bonus of a second weapon instead of a shield.
If your going to do dual wield you should eventually put the points in it to make it pay off. I'm not an expert but I think the first two are good. The last two seem to do bleeding damage bah but at least you get double slash with your weapon on many oponents with the last two so they might be good.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
