Palladins

I have seen several references to what people think of as the best character types in here. The Defence + Storm combination (Palladin) has never been referred to as being of any worth.

I would like to see any comments on the pros and cons of this pairing.

This is a good build. You are melee and you use Storm Nimbus to boost damage. You have that lightning surge skill to stun enemies (kill in normal) and a wisp to thunderclap and boost elemental damage. You look for lightning cold weapons. Defense is a good melee build and there is more than one way to build the defense half of the equation. Oh and squall is used to neutralize archers and as a debuff. If you find gear to get high -recharge you can consider some of storms spells such as lightning bolt or thunderball. Might even want thunderball in any case?

I don't know a great build but I think theres a lot of potential.

I think if I built it I would go for elemental damage and boost intelligence taking enough str, dex for a good cold/lightning weapon (use armor handling to get armor/shield)

I concur.

I have however noticed my damage isnt quite as high at the same levels as compared to my Thane. But I definately survive much longer.

As you can see there is not many active spells i am looking to use. However with all the passives, any bow will do well

I'm not one to harp on everyone building to one mold but I did have a question meant to be constructive. How much benefit does wisp 16 give? I haven't tried it honestly, but I know you still get thunderclap with 5. Also you might want some of that skill that increases shield blocking (battle awareness synergy). Then when you do quick reaction it will be amazing. Just an idea.

id lower the wisp lvl and max up squall and obscured visibility

wich, in my opinion, are the best skills out there

The wisp is maxed cos of how much it assists in mobs. The char is built for mobs. Bosses i admit will take their toll on the char.

EDIT: And I am not too fond of squall. Not much for casting as much as magnifying melee damage with magic

Paladins

Hey!

I've tried several classes and of my combinations Paladin was strongest. First I built a Juggernaut (earth/defense) and I couldn't get a single blow on Typhon before he died. Next I tried Oracle but I didn't play it up to Typhon. My 3rd character was a Paladin and it's my favorite. I built his Storm Nimbus to highest levels , bought some Ice shards, some lightning bolts and 10th level Storm Wisp. From the Defense mastery I have only a few levels of Armor Handling and I'm gonna get some Battle Awareness. Oh, my Paladin is a ranged character, armed with a bow.
