Hunting + Dream viable ?

Post by aldihu »

Hi there

I just started the game yesterday and wanted to know if hunting and dream is a good combination and what skills to use and put my points in at the beginning.

Depends on which route you go. Do note that if you go with the spear as your choice of weaponry, you'll have little trouble with many of the bosses, but the hordes will be a concern to you. And vice versa, Hordes won't be a problem if you go with the bow, but bosses will.

The Hunting mastery is a unique one and you really need to know what you're doing to make an effective build out of it (as opposed to say Storm where you can pump points into most every skill and easily kill things all through the game).
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

I would play whatever captures your imagination. Any 1 mastery can beat normal once you collect enough gear (and you'll 90% chance collect that on the way rather than have to farm).

Thats a lot of fun game experience to learn the basics of the game.

After that you will probably have trouble with Typhon, some things in IT, and later in epic (maybe late greece). I did as a new player. You may need to farm and level for awhile.

I beat epic difficulty with one of the least dominant masteries and did everything in legendary but Hades. That character was a nature/rogue and it was a challenge but I learned a lot about the two masteries. I could beat Hades just needed some more DPS and life drain defense.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

Try a conquerer

Conquerers are a great build and all you really have to do is add strength and dexterity to your guy. There are a lot of builds that just dont mix because of the weapon and armour requirements like warrior+ any elemental. But play around cuz theres a lot builds that can really kick ass on higher levels. For example when a conquerer uses a battle standard mixed with the defensive giant skill you are pretty much indestructable against bosses.

I really like my Hunting/Dream character. Once you get Distort Reality and begin working on Temporal Rift, you're ability to deal with crowds goes up significantly. Granted, I'm only part way through Normal with this, but so far it's been lots of fun.
