Well, my elementalist is continuously getting his rear end handed to him by the stupid dog.
Is the build I'm using (core dweller centered) gimped?

I cant stay in one place as cerberus kills him in one or two melee hits, and if I run around I get killed by a freak poison flame from the floor at some point.
My core dweller gets chewed to pieces in seconds too, and its my opinion that it has been nerfed into oblivion as theres tons of monsters in act 4 that kills it in seconds, (all the yellow named critters with onslaught comes considerably to mind).
I would like some advice from anyone who has a good elementalist build and strategies for killing cerberus as an elementalist. (I'm getting tired of running back to him after being killed yet again).

You should do a search on "Cerberus" and read the suggestions people have already given. I don't think there are going to be any special tricks for elementalists.

Well, I finally managed to find a tactic that allowed me to kill ol' cerberus with my elementalist (whos actually a pure pyromancer), but I feel like such a dirty cheater as its more of an exploit really.
Casting the core dweller inside the door, use the goto command to send it inside the dogs lair, and when cerbie comes into the screen-view to play, I open the door but do not enter. I just stand outside shooting at it until the core dweller dies, then I retreat half a screen left and the door closes again. Rinse and repeat.
Its damn tedious, but it works.
