Ultimate Gems

This is a SE PC question.
I was just wondering if it is possible to recieve the ultimate scholar gem from Pilgrim's Rest Inn if you choose the option to accept the reward from the innkeeper and not fight them.

Maybe there is a way to make them fighting mad even after you have accepted the reward but I haven't figured out how yet.

Not what i needed to know!

I know where the gem spawns MAN.

I have gotten it with other characters, after killing the innkeeper and his cronies. What i was asking was is there a way to get it after you have killed the Shadow Fox, and accepted the reward from the innkeeper. After this you are not allowed access to the mother.

I've never needed access to the Mother in order to get that gem - the barrel, complete with gem, is in the Inn itself, just a few steps away from Hou.
