How does one kill the second surgeon from BW?

Hope this isnt a rehash of someone else's question-but Ive spent considerable time trying to kill this thing and have given up? Suggesstions?

My personal approach was to increase my party size (four instead of two) by adding two packmules, they have remarkable and easy to use area-power (no amining needed) that stuns most of the crawlers making the battle notably less hectic.
