I've noticed this a while ago but never really thought too much about it, but I've read somewhere that Uniques aren't supposed to spawn once the PC has the said item in their inventory.
Set items I've been finding quite often, once or twice I think I've had three of the same set item in a single run (Sigon's Wrap notably), but uniques?
I have a Stealskull in my cube for boss killing and strangely enough I recieved another Stealskill from Mesphisto while wearing a stealskull. Another time I've been wearing a String of Ears and found another, today I found a Magefist even though my sorceress has one equipped O_O
Has anyone else had multiple uniques drop???
Another oddity I've noticed, today I was lucky enough to get a Reaper's Toll off Diablo in Hell. Now that might not be strange exept I'm playing single player!, isn't Reaper's Toll and ladder only item? The Arreat Summit - Items: Elite Unique Polearms
I'm playing Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction 1.11 (b?) on players 8 single player, NO MODS. I do use Atma to mule items but that's it.

Another oddity is I've been getting rather poor drops from Mephisto in Hell mode. I ran Travincal, Mesphisto and Bhaal in Nightmare from about level 70 to level 81 which proved quite profitable.
At that point in time I had about 210% magic find and got about 2 uniques a single run. I'm currently running Hellmode and I'm finding my drops are strangely consistantly ordinary magic or just money, with a magic find of about 250% Shouldn't my drops be comparable or even better than my Nightmare runs considering my higher magic find?

Another question if my sorceress casts firewall and I hotswap [W] my equipment before the monster in question dies, will my weapon be taken into account for the MF or the weapon that was equipped be used for MF?

I've got everything official as far as I know, the only other thing I can think of is I'm running Diablo off an ISO ~ which runs LOD off my harddrive instead of a CD, though that couldn't possibly have anything to do with it.
I'm thinking about trying out a ladder runeword and seeing what happens, I'll be over the moon if I can use them.

As for the magic finding, I've increased my MF to about 310 and I'm getting better items, maybe not as good as I would want but things have been much better.

Just as an update, I've tried a ladder runeword with no success, additionally I've found not one Reaper's Toll but 3 since the last time I've posted in this thread. Currently I'm leaning towards the Arreat Summit wrongly marking the Reaper's Toll as being ladder only.

I've also discovered that it's not the current armour equipped that decides one's magic find, but the armour being worn at the execution of an attack. For example, if I fired a Blessed Hammer and switched items (+100 magic find) before it hit a it's target, the hammer WOULD NOT hit as +100 magic find but rather the previous armour's magic find.
So a projectile or a duration attack seems to only carry the armour properties at the time of execution, not the equipped armour at the time of monster death.
This is only a theory, but I've had way too many monsters die to firewalls and been jipped of drops. There is a major difference between 0% extra gold and 250% extra gold. I've casted firewall, swapped weapons (before firewall's duration ran out) and gotten 1500 gold; where if I killed a monster with the gold finding weapon equipped I'd properly net 4500 gold or more.
Interesting point of note I think.

Perhaps plugY has enabled the uniques, but not the runewords? I have vague memories about seeing some of the below items in singleplayer using PlugY.

I've used original install cds and I've only used one patch and it's 1.11 from Blizzard itself, I very rarely install mods to my games. The computer I play diablo 2 on isn't even connected to the internet. I suppose it's not important though, if my drops are slightly glitched it's nothing for me to complain about.
I know of plugY but decided against downloading it in the end, kinda seems unfair that ladder gets all the things but I'm surviving.
