I decided that since one of the Mods directed me here that I would start pasting my replies here where they belong (I hope . I am pasting in one of my kites to one of the mods because I think my question/concern was confusing.
I finished TQ today and installed IT to begin the new one. I did an import because I like my char and I figured starting at LVL 32 is better than LVL 1 !! hahahaha.
My concern is that something may have gone wrong in the install and only because of what I read about the new version. It's a GREAT game but I think this one may have gotten hosed somehow. Walkthroughs on IT for instance, speak of "starting in Hades". Even though I finished TQ I did not talk to a char that was mentioned in a walkthrough. Yet the game seemed to have terminated correctly and it told me I killed Typhon; ran credits etc. But, as I said, starting IT I am in Helos then have gone to Laconia and that doesnt seem to jive with the overview. Kinda fun to kill things now though....ones that troubled me before.....now when I use my Staff they fly up in the air and land feet from me!! hahahah
Well time to shutup. I don't want anyone here to think that I did not do my research and such. I am 59 years old and a VN combat Vet 100% disabled. 'fraid you'd not get much of a fight out of me unless I could get outta my wheelchair and stand up!! LOL
Did you perhaps go to the next difficulty setting rather than to the expansion pack's new act? You might need to go to the normal setting, kill Typhon again, and then go through the portal there.

I don't think so. I was shown a portal after I wasted Typhon and it asked if I wanted to go through. I said YES, of course, I mean that was a lot of work!! <whew>. Guy says something to me about needing heros like me...etc...prolly wanted to borrow some of my gold!
So I fired up Immortal Throne and it showed one char nude as a jaybird with MY real first name and if I used the arrow key I could go to my LVL 33 Soothsayer. I followed what they said about importing the char and it says it did. But I start in Helos just like before. Is THAT supposed to happen? A few new chars showed up so at least PART of it is new....I dunno.
Any thoughts? Other than the fact some of you think I'm crazy?? LOL
Did you go through the portal before getting IT started? Also, are you still using the original TQ icon on your desktop? No need to use that anymore, the IT icon will boot up the original campaign with the expansion at once.
Oh, and the portal itself, IIRC, it will say specifically the name "Rhodes" on it. So if you don't see that, it's just the normal portal that makes you go to the next difficulty.

It probably wouldn't be a TON of hassle to kill Typhon again, but if you don't want to do that, you can always use the Defiler to give yourself that first waypoint in Hades (next to where you start anyway I believe), so that you don't have to go through the trouble.
