Help building PVM fun build

Post by Claudius »

If you could undo pts put into skills I would just experiment myself...

but since I can't please help me plan my druid. I know of some guides but they are not labeled as PVM vs. PVP so I don't know why they are built the way they are.

Lets start with some questions on skills:

cyclone armor and hurricane: I don't see why every druid doesn't take some in this? A melee druid wouldn't mind slowed down foes and elemental resist...Does wereshape prevent casting Summoning druid might want slow enemies for their summons to rip up? Of course wind druid wants this...maybe even fire elementalist..

Wereshapes: why don't the elememental builds take some in bear and get tons of life? Summoning druids can use some life too.

Summoning: Seems everyone would want at least 1 pt oak sage and a grizzly bear?

Does anyone know of any spread out builds using 2 or 3 trees? The wind druid build looks great but I don't know if it is maximizing damage for PVP ie do you really need that much devoted to tornado to kill in hell?

In wereshape you can only cast Armageddon and summon the animal that is of your shape. As for cyclone armor, it is a waste of skill points for some druids. I don't deny that it's a good skill, but some builds need all the points they can get. Take my druid for example. It's a melee druid focusing in werebear and fireclaws. My skills? Twenty went to fireclaw and the rest to its four synergies. There isn't any room for other skills. Even then, I have a nice, big pool of health and great armor so that skill is unneeded. Also, for a health boost I use an Oak Sage at level 1, 15 or so with items.

Actually, Hurricane is devastating in Hell, given that you trained your druid correctly.

You can't really use any other skills except Armageddon, Spirit Wolf OR Bear, the Sages and the Shapeshifting tree stuff when in your animal form.

Thanks!

I have an idea for a druid that lets you use a ton of skills. Maybe not the most focused but I think it will work...

Summoning 31+

Oak Sage 1 pt (might as well benefit from +skills)
Heart of Wolverine 1 pt (later on in hell when merc/bear kill fire immunes)
*also more versatility if I party

Raven 1 pt (pre-requisite)
Spirit Wolf 3 pt+ (3 early for ease of play as much as needed to keep summons hitting and alive)
Dire Wolf 3 pt+ (ditto)
Dire Bear 20 pt+ (summons that aren't damaging and helping with fire immunes are pointless)

Poison Creeper 1 pt (prerequisite)
Carrion Vine 1 pt+ (1 pt wonder to benefit by plus skills/ rid of corpses)

Shapeshifting 25+

Werewolf 1 pt+ (our form used for + attack speed...hope I don't need pts in)
Lycanthropy 1 pt (I'm counting on +skills to give a little duration)
Bear 1 pt (prerequisite)
Maul 1 pt (prerequisite)
Feral Rage 1 pt (prereq and used early on)
Fire Claws 20 pt (our left click wolf attack)

Elemental 37+
* When faced with fire immunes kill everything not immune you can identify. Then shift out of wolf and cast hurricane spew boulders and volcanoes.

Firestorm 1 pt (prereq)
Molten Boulders 10 pts+ (fire immunes, fire claw synergy)
Fissure 5 pts (make armagaddon last 20 sec, fire claw synergy)
Volcano 10 pt+ (fire immunes right click, fire claw synergy)
Armageddon 1 pt (cast as wolf when surrounded etc)
Arctic Wind 1 pt (prereq)
Cyclone Armor 5 pt (make Hurricane 20 sec, help elemental defense)
Twister 1 pt (prereq)
Tornado 1 pt (prereq)
Hurricane 1 pt (fire immunes cold damage+slow) *can also prep for a dangerous room in human form: cast cyclone armor/hurricane transform wolf run in room with the pack

Pts spent 93

Strategy Ok summons and 20 fireclaw wolf with 25+ x 22% bonus to fire damage....20 sec armageddon in sticky spots.

fire immunes: merc and bear with heart of wolverine spam boulders/hurricane/volcano

You can only put 20 points into one skill, the other points have to be granted by items.

Oh I made an error and posted Dire Bear 20+...it should read Dire Bear 20.
The fireclaw thing isn't meant to read 25 pts fire claw I mean 20 pts fireclaw with at least 25 pts in syngergies...

The trees list values above 20 but those are whole trees.
