What's the best helm for caster
I just wanted to know what the best helm for a caster is because a lot of people have been saying its the golden veil of hesione because it boosts ur elemental damage a lot BUT it kinda has low armor so i was just wondering if it actually was...
I am not sure what a good one is of helms. Hesione is good I looked through the leg helms and thought ploutons and teresias was pretty good too...
The best helm I have heard of for any character is a legendary revenant crown (monster infrequent in egypt tombs - legendary) (+2 skills) with the hallowed prefix (another +1 skills) socketed with a crystal of Erebus (+2 skills)...I might have some of the individual numbers wrong but it adds to +5....
That would give you more than enough +skills especially since you might want to wear archmages clasp rather than stonebinders cuffs.

....how did you get a crystal of Erebus that gives you +2 to all skills? I have been playing for quite a while and never found one....you sure this is not a "created item" cos the other question is that I have never seen a +3 to all skills green helm of any type, I have seen a +2 to skills though.
So basically I question your source's unfortunately.
However I do agree with you on the mantle or head gear from Egypt area. I have seen a lot of good caster helms and headgear out of that area. A lot of them giving good mana regen, + to Intelligence and mana on them.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
I am sure it adds up to +5 but I am not sure of the individual pieces.

Revenant Crown - this is a monster infrequent item (like stonebinders) that spawns with automatic mods...I think the legendary version is +2 skills but I guess if the Erebus only goes to +1 then it must be +3 (like leg stonebinders)
Monster infrequent items can spawn with prefixes and suffixes in addition to their automatic MI mods. The guys that wear these crowns hang out in the tomb of ramses and the tomb just to the north of the vendor in valley of kings (forget the name). I also forget the name of the guys but they spawn in pairs. So you have slim odds of facing ANY of these enemies and even slimmer odds that they will drop a monster infrequent crown (they also drop other revenant gear granting +skills such as leggings). It is even more unlikely that such a crown will spawn the rare prefix hallowed.
But somebody on titanquest.net assembled such a crown. I think he posted a screenshot. I don't know if its possible or not to make monster infrequents coded into a custom map. I don't think so because I think the chance of the drop occurs when the monster is killed?

Edit: I also just noticed a disapointing thing for casters...it is a strength based item...I thought zombie sorceror looking guys would drop caster gear my bad. I have fought these guys but I never have found the normal, epic, or legendary version of the monster infrequent reventant gear. The name of the monster is gilded dead.

Out of those three, Hesione's Golden Veil is the best if you only have core, but Tiresias' Guide is better if you have Immortal Throne and Crest of Hypnos is the better choice if you're a caster with the Dream Mastery.

I am still confused here. I have never seen a charm that adds +2 to skills. Have done the category search under charms and + skills and nothing comes up and have done some serious searching with all of my characters (completing the Erebus crystal quest in legendary) and still can not find anything remotely like a +2 to skills charm.
If it does exist it would have to be the rarest item a character could find....kind of like a zod rune from D2...
I know for a fact +2 to skills does exist on green items...have found an amulet that adds +2 to skills and +28 to strength so no worries there.
If the +2 to skills charm does exist then geepers I am going to start looking asap.
