Damage goes to mana

Post by sort-vampyr »

Both skills and mainly items can give you the abillity "Damage goes to mana". I would just like to know if it is possible to get this abillity to 100 % ? So that you would have to reach 0 mana before losing hp ?
Did I just roll 1 on a save vs. death? DANG! *>.<

Nope, it is not possible sadly. I believe the cap is 80%.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.

I don't think it's capped. However, it doesn't work the way you suggest here. You take damage, it's just that a certain % of the damage is given back to you in the form of mana. So, for example, if you have 20% Damage goes to mana, and a monster hits you for 100 physical damage, you will still loose 100 life, but you will gain 20 mana.

The only way to let your mana pool take the blow instead of your life, is the sorc skill Energy Shield.

It is capped. I have a few diablo 2 mods I've made where I uncapped it.

It's uncapped, but it works like C Elegans says, it does not reduce damage.

I also believe that there are no skills that give "Damage taken goes to mana" but I don't play every class so if someone is able to correct me on that it would be nice.

Edit: If you where talking about the sorceress energy shield it does have a cap on 95%, but those 5% that goes through would be the least of your worries should you try such a build.
