i agree with u smiley

i think that it would be a great idea for some new guns... and ones that don't shoot the same types of bullets for every kind of gun, but heavier guns...and equipable wrist-launchers like Mira's in K2.

what i want

Knights of the Old Republic III: The True Threat (my own subtitle)
1. More KotOR. finish the story please. Revan and the Exile should be party members picked up along the way in the unknown regions. Bastila and Carth should only appear based on choices in a dialogue to learn how you completed the first two. Like when you first met Atton.
2. Start as a JEDI. I want my lightsaber now. Neutral padawan, ready for 'the trials'. I would like to see more customization here, more species, more weapons, more creatable items but the same class/level structure.
3. Every planet should have a boss fight to finish, tough bosses, too.
4. Tougher puzzles.
5. More sidequests.
6. Scary, scary 'True Sith'
Lots of the posts have ideas that are way cool, real time fighting, epic battles with many more enemies at once, open ended non-linear progression, the ability to jump, and it sounds awesome, but to me that's for a different game. I would buy GTA: Coruscant. But first I need to finish KotOR.

Apart from having Revan and Exile (I think we should find traces of them but not them in person, at least until the end), I agree with everything here.

I would add:

7: Respawning baddies, so there's always the chance to gain XP or LS/DS points.

I don't know if any of this has been mentioned before but here a few things I would love to see.

1. More differentiation between light and dark. Both basically have the same quests, the same bosses, do the same fights, but you have to choose different speech options. I would like seperate bosses, maybe even different planets and quest paths to encourage replaying the game as both sides.

2. The ability to continue in the world after the game ends and have monsters and enemies respawn so you can level and destroy to your hearts content.

3. This may be just from playing so much Final Fantasy, but I want the inclusion of some optional super bosses. Maybe a ridiculously strong Jedi Master and Sith lord roaming out there that are overpowered to the point of insanity, but if you defeat them you get some awesome items.

4. More side quests and non-linearity, I don't need the Oblivion kind of freedom, but at least the option to put off the main quest until I want to do it.

First post, so I want to add this a great forum.

Personally, I'd love to start my own Jedi enclave - whether good or evil. I wouldn't mind influencing them to engage the other orders in war, or to bring my enemies before me.

It would be pretty tight if (for more replay value) the player could choose to emphasis less on being a Jedi, and pursue a career as a bounty hunter, a smuggler, or even a diplomat (for those who want to start a revolution).

Finally, on my wish list - I'd really enjoy having an opportunity to design and build my own vessel. More guns, more power, more dots!

On that note, maybe even custom force powers? I'm thinking chain lightning that both damages and steals small amounts of VP and FP from each enemy it inflicts, then it channels it all back to me. Oh my god, let's get creative here. Palm spells. Who doesn't want to throw a force wave and swing their weapon simultaneously? Better yet, heal your ally while choking your enemy.. :mischief:

Yep, it'd be nice to begin the game with a lightsaber. But I'd much rather have this first lightsaber broken in a big fight (a là Visas Marr) on the first thirty minutes of the game, so we'd have to endure a couple of hours with mundane weapons, like vibroblades. Eventually we'd find parts to repair our lightsaber, or we could simply scrap it and build a brand new one.

No arguments here. :)

I lot more varied actions that go beyond the limiting Good/Evil options. For instance, incorporating another dimension of Lawful/Chaotic (like D&D) would improve the depth and experience. This could be somewhat incorporated into gameplay...For example, Obi-Wan and Palpatine were more Lawful and thus less likely to turn, while Anakin/Vader was arguably more powerful but probably more Chaotic. I dunno, I just think it would make for more interesting gameplay.

This would also allow for more dialogue options. I really hated how in the first game, near then end, you only had the "Come to the light! Surrender and be saved!" or "Fear my wrath! Die fool!" with no real inbetween responses that could still be light or dark, just not mindlessly stupid. The second game was much, much better with believable and convincing dialogue, and I would like to see that continued. Also, some options like "[Vow] I will do this" or "[Lie] I will do this" (a la PS:T) would be nice, and could easily fit with another Lawful/Chaotic dimension.

I would also very, very much like the option of NOT being a Jedi. I really think the first game would've been much more interesting and open if you had the choice of refusing to become a Jedi, and staying as your starting class or something (or maybe, as previously mentioned, becoming a diplomat or a bounty hunter). It would be cool to play a character like Han Solo rather than another Jedi.

And as said by others, tougher puzzles that are optional but that could be brutally difficult.

Tweak the combat system to possibly make it a little more tactical. This would make some battles, especially boss battles, be potentially much more difficult. Combat in the game is way too easy, especially at higher levels (though destroying everything the Trayus Academy solo was certainly fun).

Optional planets and areas would be nice. I'm thinking areas like the Umar Hills and Windspear Hills from BG2: completely optional to the main quest, but awesome areas for sidequests.
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.

Love this idea.

I've seen this suggested before and I'm not so convinced. After all, it is Knights of the Old Republic - the jedi is implied in the title. Surely in both games you had the option of RPing a non-jedi, by just not using the powers?

In general though I like all your ideas.

Thoughts

In SKOTOR3 i would like there to be the options of different charecters.
I think that when you start you have like 3 different start points
Like one could be Sith Lord
Or even one of the Sith lords aprrentices, where you are working for your master.
One could be Jedi Council guy
and one could be mercenary/bounty hunty etc
And what you pick will set up a different scenario

Like if you were the sith lord you are given control of ships to control and soldiers to boss about etc, and then you could train apprentices and more sith etc. Then you go from planet to planet, and you can still be in small partys, for example with your sith apprentice and you can still follow a story to recruit or attack planets with would be cool.

Even after you've picked though what you do is effecting your D/L side points, and if you change alignment your influence over your people goes down.

I also believe that whatever character you pick you should have a special clothing for it. At the start when you pick your face (in Skotor1/2) in number 3 i think you should pick a special clothing just for yourself which the armour/robes would go underneath so you could always have a special identity. Like sion is all cracked or nidious had the mask i think the main character should be able to pick something like that.

This is just what i think.

That sounds more like a strategy game than a rpg.

Good idea! :) Btw, why not just add more moves overall?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your current moves:
Melee:
Attack , Critical Strike , Flurry , Power Attack
Ranged:
Attack , Sniper Shot , Rapid Shot , Power Blast
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suggestion moves:
Melee:
Spin Strike (you attack all the enemies attacking you together)
Diversion Slash (you miss and it lowers the enemies defence for 2 combat round by making him think you're weak)
Disarm Opponent (you can disarm your opponent)
Ranged:
Spread Blast (shoot an array of blaster bolts at many enemies)
Diversion Blast (you miss and it lowers the enemies defence for 2 combat round by making him think you're weak)
Disarm Opponent (you can disarm your opponent)

Love this idea - it could prompt a dialogue moment where you either get to spare their life or kill them defencelessly.

Would we be talking about disarming in the standard sense of taking their weapon off of them, or disarming in the Obiwan sense of cutting their arm off, though?

Just for the record

How would you disarm someone with a ranged attack?

In the standard sence of taking their weapon off of them for the ranged attack.

For the melee attack you can choose to either take their weapon off of them, or cut their hands off. (cutting hands is pretty normal in the Star Wars universe, even Kreia got her hand cut off :p )
