Questions for early party

Post by Lasiurus »

Hi, so I've been checking the forums for soem info but I wanted something more precise.

Since you can't take your party members with you throught different difficulty levels I wanted some guide on a efficient Party for each difficulty.

I now 2 things so far:
1) my main character will be a Fire based Combat Mage.
2) By the time I'm on Elite my prefered party would be like this:
- a Dual Wielder
- a Tank
- a Ranger
- a Nature Mage
- My Fire mage
- another combta mage.

So my questions are:

1) For the first two dificulty levels, what kind of party members would be best to survive.

2) The second combat mage I would add; what kind of Combat mage should it be.

3) Is that a good part yfor Elite???
I'm not asking for super deep details, but rather some guide from more experienced players.

Thanks in advance!!!

That's not true. Your companions move through the difficulty levels with you.

It doesn't really matter which classes you have in your party. I suspect just about anything would work, so use whichever ones you like.

SWC
Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

But wait...you mean once a I beat the game once; when I start the next difficulty level I'll appear in the Driad jail along with all my companions??, If I have Lothar with me on Mercenary, will there be two Lothars in the next difficulty??

Yes, all come into jail and with all your equipment and inclusive weapons - but they can not harm anyway since the hole environement is invulnerable, thus no need to disarm the imprisoned chars...

And there are not two Lothars really, because... well ...it's rather Lothar's twin-brother :D that you will encounter as combat mage then (and Deru's twin-sister will be nature mage).

Actually veteran and elite mode are simple replays (with stronger loot and weaker monsters, subjectively) and these later modes obtained notably less attention form GPG than mercenary mode.
However if you plan to play these modes too you could skip very well in mercenary mode some side-quests or partymember related quest to make them later in the veteran/elite.
Totally modded.

I never lost with this party! :D My perfect party combination:

Name, race, class, preffered weapon

1) Me, Human, Combat Mage, fire mastery
2) Deru, Dryad, Ranger, bow
3) Lothar, Half-Giant, Melee, sword and shield
4) Taar, Dryad, Nature Mage, ice mastery and healing
5) Eva, Human, Melee, two swords (veteran)
6) Vix, Human, Ranged, thrown weapon (elite)

This is good because: In mercenary these are the first 4 characters you can get. To create a good balance all must have a different class. Here is how it works in combat: Lothar goes in and stops the enemy from attacking the rest, Taar constantly heals him and he has high defence so he doesn't die, I weaken the enemy and attack them with Deru. For veteran mode I use also Eva to strengthen my melee barage because enemies are tougher and do more damage. Finaly for elite, I use also Vix for aditional ranged damge. I could explain every detail, but this is enough. ;)
  :p ;) :D :o :( :)

Thanks KillerGremal and Smiley!

Gremal, I didn't know that, but it was a good think you told me, because I was pretty much about to build three different Parties, thinking that they were unique to rach difficulty.

Smiley, thanks for that party idea. I like it, probably I sould onlyu change thrown weapons for another combat mage, but I'll think t twice now....

Cheers!

for mercenary i used:
myself, as a ranger with bow
taar, as a nature ice/healing
eva, as a dual wield melee
finala, as combat curse/lightning

with finala you can cast the curse drown which makes the enemies weak to ice and lightning - perfect for a nature ice mage and a combat lightning mage
and with the nature mage you can buff up your party with embrace/wrath spells
