What is your favorite type of weapon in the game and why?

My favorite weapon is the shotgun because at later levels with the right upgrades on it even on the hardest difficulty you can become unstopable.

Since I almost always on first play-through any role playing game..
play a tank-like/soldier type....
My first run in Mass Effect played with pistols...

Next run will experiment with other type characters and the various weapons.

Mine would be biotics

At higher levels the enemies become litteral pushovers

The Spectre assault rifle is my fav...it does good damage and if you can have it cooled off as much as possible it deals it out pretty good.

I'm enjoying Biotics quite a bit. Watching a group of enemies go flying in the air is very satisfying, if overpowering at times. Weapon wise, I find the shotgun particularly satisfying. I've yet to give sniper rifles a serious whirl, though. I am not sure I have the patience to fully appreciate them, but the concept and scope thing is cool.

They Are Compact, Elegant, Effective and For Every Class

Playing for the first time as Vanguard (I like the fact that a Vanguard balances weapon attack and power attack - Soldier+Adept) I felt excited to shoot often and fast with a pistol, especially with a good pistol upgrade and ammo. Besides, every class gets it.

My favourite weapon would be the shotgun, espacially when used in the vanguard-class. That is because it's very much fun to just lift or trow enemies away, run towards them and then beat the best out of them with a shotgun.

Pistols. Why? because this is the first game ive played that has pistols that deal death! And the nerd powas are fun too, enjoyed spamming every explosion i have on one guy, who then had no weapon, shields or abilities. Free kill.

I use assault Rifles mostly with a pistol as secondary

With Mass Effect I decided to try a tank-like character first (which is highly unusual for me) so I choose a Soldier. I use a combo of Assault Rifle and Shotgun, but mainly AR, because the SG just overheats too fast
