And what exactly is it going to take from what KotOR allready is? This would give it much more customization options, and if you don't have time for it you can just buy the whole body set.
that would be taking away from what kotor already is in my opinion, but why not have the suit of armor that matches already instead of having a mixed-matched armor piece? it would be possible to do a chest, hands, legs, feet armor set up but it might get in the way and not blend very well.
I agree with Obrad on this one. I doubt that the ideas he posted will remove the very aspect that made KOTOR into what it really is even though I do find his ideas kind of complicated. Just think of this: tinkering with the accessories and clothings do not alter the RPG aspect of any game. This is just a very minor issue. Its the gameplay mechanics that you have to worry about.

Reaver, you mentioned the clothing idea where its divided into different parts like torso, head, hands, legs and feet. That idea was implemented by Fable: The Lost Chapters (and the original version as well) and it managed to blend well into the game. :)

Thats the whole thing, i dont want the style of kotor to really change. the equipment set-up is fine how it is, thats why if you change it you will be taking away from what the game has been like in the past. im not saying it cant be done, im saying that i dont agree on having a bunch of pieces of armor when you can just put on a robe with the same look.

So if I got it right, Reaver32, you want armour in KotOR to stay just how it is?

im perfectly happy with what it is. its easy, its managable, and it doesnt require a lot of thought as to what the cloths/armor would look like

I agree with you, Reaver. Actually, in my opinion, I don't mind that the clothing turn out to be just one whole clothing or its divided into set pieces like in Fable for example. Just make sure that the designs on them are good to look at and is different among the other armours/clothing in your inventory.

Well, yes, it's simple, but I like it a bit more complicated than that. Maybe my idea is too complicated for someone's taste, but it's more realistic and there's an unwritten rule that says: more realistic=more complicated. That's why real world is such a mess. :D

Im sorry, but i dont agree with that one bit, the most realistic things dont need to be complex, and i dont see this unwritten rule that states so. the more realistic something is is in the eye of the beholder. the system has worked well with the last 2 games, so all i have to say is: if it aint broke, dont fix it

just one thing: customizable armor

doesnt have to be early or late, just sometime in the game you can make your own armor

because darth revan's armor is the 1337ness, and only Dark Jedi Master robe comes even close in kotor 2

pegon wrote:Hi i am a new user of this board, but as a long time player of kotor i have some ideas regarding armour.

For the sole reason of it looking good, i allways use Darth Bandons armour whenever i play Kotor. Alltough other types give better protection, they all look fey. Every hardened fighter knows that looking good means everything when going to battle ;)

My idea is to let the player go to a armour store at the beginning of the game. There he/she can pick from a great number of basic armour that have different looks.
This armour has the protection he needs early in the game, but has the advantage of a large number of upgrade options.

As the game progresses, and the player unlocks new worlds he/she gets accsess to new upgrade options, either by completing sidequests or buying them at stores
If the player tires of his outfit he/she can get a new one, and transfer the upgrades.

This way the player gets to customize the look of the caracter freely, and yet have the best armour protection.

This idea allso apply to vizors/masks, as there are a number of ugly ones, that i exclude for this reason.

So is it just me that wants to look good while waging war ?

Pegon
i want to hav som big red armour wiv black spikes on that u can use force while wearin it!!!
