Do equipment attributes stack in D2?

Post by Meezly1 »

if i have armor with +17% faster run/walk and boots with +20% faster run/walk. does that stack, or do the boots with 20% only count? i know str, dex etc. stack, but i'm not sure about percentages like run/walk, faster hit recovery, and others.

Yep, it stacks.

If I'm using Griswold's armor with a +2 on Paladin defensive skills and add runes to make it +2 to all skills will these attributes stack? Will I then receive +4 def and +2 all the rest? Also if the runeword is 3 characters long can I put in the first rune now and wait until later to put in the second and third? I have the first and third, can I put the third in the third spot without putting the second in beforehand?

Runewords DO NOT work with set items, unique items, rare items, or even magic items. They only work on a socketed item with the right number of sockets for the runeword. You have to put them in the given order, you can not change the order of the runes. You cannot put the third rune before the second.

So to sum up...the 3 sockets in my Griswold armor should be filled with Gems, Jewels, or Runes for their solitary effect alone. I can put the first Rune in and wait say a month before putting the second in but I have to put the second in before the third. I just want to make sure I understand.

As for your original question- If you have one item that grants +2 to firebolt, another that grants +2 to all fire skills, and another item that grants +2 to all skills, the skill Firebolt will receive a total of +6 and all fire skills a +4.

Aside from runewords on set items, every magical bonus stacks with the same or similar other magic bonuses from any other magic item.

And as to this question: Yes, just put them in in order, 1-2-3, it doesn't matter how long passed in between the placement.

New spin, same question. Can I carry more than 1 torch and will they stack as well. I have a druid with a +3 druid torch. If I were to trade for another +3 druid torch would I then get +6? I ask because I was about to trade for another but the person I was dealing with told me I could not use 2 torches.

-You can only have one of these (each) Charms in your possession (backpack/cube/stash) at a time. If you already have one of the Charms you cannot pick up a second one of the same type. Mentioned charms are Annihilus, Gheed's Fortune and Hellfire Torch.
