Interacting with crew

Post by Borodin »

I'm just starting...retrieving Beacon on New Eden....I notice one of my crew, Kaidan, has good decryption talents and should be able to open locked doors, but I don't see any way to ask him to do that ???? (In which case, why give him any talents?) Help- I must be missing something.

Did you try to search before posting? This topic has been discussed before, for example one such thread can be found from the first page of thread listing.

But to answer your question, the highest skill level from your party is automatically used, so there is no need to tell your party members to use those skills. Each time you try to decrypt something the game checks the skill of each member of the party.

Then why doesn't Kaidan step in and unlock the door......too far away??? What's the trick to getting him to act? I'm left doing Manual Override.

You have to perform the action, but you get to use the highest skill level in your party. Without Kaiden you probably wouldn't even be able to make the attempt.
