Structural integrity of underground facilities cares about a small nuke. IIRC, it was 20 kT, which isn't *that* heavy.

I went to Virmire after the initial three planets, actually. I had some "probing around" with Ash in between planets, but the lovescene happened *after* escaping the Citadel. Given the dialogue ("You shouldn't call me Skipper anymore, I'm a traitor.") that happened then, I found it strange that you had completed the romance before Virmire.

If you regularly have your conversations with the NPC, you will first get a scene with the 'interrupted kiss' and then, right before landing on Virmire, the 'love scene'. That is the only time you can get this scene.

I got the scenes when the Normandy was grounded and after escaping the Citadel respectively. So you can get the scenes on different times apparently. Both times, they melded in well with what was happening.

Hm, I did not know you could get it later on (if your life interest is still alive after Virmire, naturally). Interesting. So, what triggered that sex scene for you?

EDIT: or maybe the scene was before Ilos, not before Virmire? My memory is a bit fuzzy.

It didn't trigger anything, I'm used to more. :p
Seriously, after Anderson helped us get the Normandy back, there was some talking among the crew, and Shepard was in his cabin. Ash entered and started talking to him, calling him "Skipper", Shepard saying he technically no longer was that. Ashley replied that he was a great commander with a great ass, which was the opening to the love scene. The interrupted kiss scene was triggered after being grounded by the council. Shepard was sitting by his locker being down, and Williams came along.
If you got the scenes at other points, and they meshed in well with the story, and I had the same experience, but on other points in the story, then this shows that they put a lot of effort in the writing, no?

No, it was the same, actually. I think the sex scene indeed happened before Ilos, not Virmire. No variations.

Not really. As I mentioned before, there was not much logic in the main plot.

As The World Turns. I love how I have absolutely no idea what you two are talking about.

I found it a perfectly acceptable main plot. I don't get the whole "illogical narrative" complaint about ME. Sure, it takes a certain amount of willingnes to go with it, but then again: which story doesn't? Why does this game catch all the flak for it?

Maybe because we expected to see RPG's, as a story-telling devices, to have developed further? Except it's been the graphics, production, etc.

Please, Tricky, play the game before you say anything about it.

That's the thing, I'm not saying anything about the game. I'm saying something about the state of gaming, Mass Effect being on the edge of it as it is.

I'd be glad if Mass Effect became the new standard for game quality. Granted, it is too action focused to be called a traditional RPG, but it does what it sets out to do very well.

Correction, I meant to say the state of storytelling in gaming, since that's what DW's complaints are about. Sorry, it got late yesterday.

I'm an idiot. :p
