Resistences at Negative...?

Post by Justice Pie »

I just beat TQIT on Normal and started over on Epic, I discover my Elemental Resistences are in the Negative!

Does starting a new campaign reduce your Elemental Resistences, and if it does, should they be starting around -40%?

Thanks, can't find much on this. =P

Starting a new campaign doesn't reduce your elemental resistances, if you would go back to normal you'd find your resistances are back to normal.

However, each successive difficulty mode (epic and then legendary) gives you a hefty penalty on your resistance levels, to make the game more challenging. So yes, your resistances should be in the negative when starting in epic.

Beware of skeleton mages in greece. Stay in greece until you get positive resists. You have the chance of finding some really good purple items which will have good resistances.

Check shops for leggings of the pegasus = elemental resist. Very rare. Some amulets have elemental resists and can be found in shops...examples that I can think of is prismatic and anulling...Helms of Glory. Monkey King Trickery from normal mode in rings.

Another good elemental resist that is a very rare monster infrequent is the stonebinder cuffs. It will also give +2 to skills on epic! (+3 legendary). You will have to kill on average 250 gorgon bosses (3 medusa sisters, geomancers, fire shooting gorgons, gorgon hero monsters) to get a stonebinder cuff. A good run is to start at the portal by the skeletons and run past all the skeletons. Then kill the medusa gorgons 3. You might get SBCs or check their chest you might get other goodies. Then run the gorgons past them but don't trigger the rebirth fountain. You only have to kill the gorgon bosses. If you skip the non-boss gorgons you can kill 3-9 gorgon bosses per run and a run might take 2 minutes. Which means if you do that for several hours you'll get loads of interesting items from chest/mobs and possibly stonebinder cuffs. If you get bored kill Nessus and Polyphemus or just kill mobs (they drop good items sometimes too). Check shops too.

Brother, Claudius, thanks for the advice and the clarification. Looks like they don't intend for you to run through the game again with the old equipment. =P Time to start paying attention to what I sell back.
