I checked out the "Best Builds" thread but it was light on defence mastery. I'm looking for a defence mastery build that is very hard to kill and can deal decient damage. Please be specific, not just:"A Paliden is a good build."
Thank you in advance.

"That dead... whatever that thing was, is really gross, but Hawaii is still very nice."
Warden. Spear and Shield.
(Here's just what I would do)
Start off with Hunting because Defense struggles for damage early because most everything based on percents. Later on percents are really nice. Use Call of Hunt on Boss fights study prey to make boars eg go down. Woodlore is where you dump extras for now, but only 1 in until study prey. Spear is the most damaging weapon and you get attack speed and DA. Put enough pts in Dex to wield all spears and rest in either strength or dex.

Next 2 pts go in Defense and Armor handling which will reduce damage you take.

Next priority is to grab defenses wonder defensive skill = quick recovery and might as well get a shield proc too. Finish woodlore too.

This is what you can do by the end of greece maybe. Volley will be amazing skill essentially tripling your damage which is big with hunting. You will eventually need to sink 2-4+ (don't spend to many) ability points into energy and you can do it now if you want.

This is kind of controversial...some people like shield charge better and maxed synergy shield charge IS better....but 2 pts in batter/rend is better than only 2 pts in shield charge and you've got a lot of good skills as a warden to put pts into. Hint: + skills is good.

The point of this is to invest in the mastery...you should still have enough damage. Also I want iron will for Barmanu...If you play through fast without leveling much you might not get this in time for his stun so use gear for stun resist. I don't choose focus yet because a high shield block doesn't start to matter a whole lot until stronger shields and you have quick recovery when you need it.

Pulverize is the bomb and between pulverize volley you can do a lot of damage. Call of Hunt when needed. Colossus on bosses + Call of Hunt multiplies the damage (Keep them study preyed too). Then if colassus wears off or your too damaged hit quick recovery. Ok the problem with colossus is you will have to practice drinking mana pots while fighting. Later Rally will solve this. You need your energy points by now.
Now it depends what your gear is. Do you need damage or defense. You'll fight Cerberus before long and typhon so you might want Herbalism for Cerberus and more pts in the lower shield procs for typhon. Rally/Defiance might be nice for typhon but not really because you can't tank his elemental attacks anyway you should dodge them.
Ok so I'll put a much later build and you decide if you need offense (shield procs) or what. Later when % to damage is more important max art of hunt and when archers get nasty in orient/hades get more pts in find cover. Find Cover is actually probably a high priority.

Here's how I would probably finished normal. Notice I have herbal remedy for Cerberus and max find cover. I also switched from batter on RMB to shield charge...I have enough good LMB procs (Volley Pulverize) that I don't want to spend much time battering yet shield charge is a great movement skill which affects a lot of people and disrupts skills/damage.

Ok now I am tired of drinking blue pots for colossus form so I take rally. I also start the adrenaline line. Greece/Egypt will be easy just look for better gears.

I wasn't sure but I thought adrenaline would do more damage then boosting art of the hunt. Now rally has longest duration and convenient to cure the blue pot addiction. I figure you might need more poison resist in epic because of the penalty in epic. But put what you are comfortable into herbalism.

Here the % damage from art of hunt is paying off more especially if you have a legendary spear. Quick recovery is maxed to help with archers for the most part and bosses. Call of the Hunt will make you faster attacking for more damage longer now. Good for tough spots and bosses.

This is how I would finish...it takes forever to get higher than 65 and it won't make much difference where you put the pts.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
Try Conqueror or Templar....I haven't tested those classes yet, but I think they are popular defense classes.
Another good one is spirit-defense if you have the fanpatch and have ravages of time working.
