Hi all,
I Cleared out the hall that is supposed to be the entrance to Kroth and then then went to put the amulet in the temple to complete quest 4. I go back down the lonnngg stairs again, turn right, when up and down the hall, turned on all the torches, but it is a dead end with a statue of a headless lady that the end. Please help. (I am assuming there is only one set of stairs in the swamp, and have wiped out all creatures everywhere.)
Thanks,
Card.

I'm a bit confused as to where you are. I know there's a temple near the swamp where you have to kill a witch. Then, in the swamp there is that temple where you have to lay a amulet/artifact on an the altar to complete the 'Purify the Temple' quest. After some exploration and killing you find a set of stairs hidden under the roots of a tree, which lead down into the goblins' dungeons. After these dungeons, you emerge back on the surface. If you carry on the path you meet up with Gresh, who you have to kill and only then do you enter Fortress Kroth. So where exactly are you and what exactly is this hall you speak up? Could you be a bit more specific/detailed.
I'll fight to the end, I will not bend
Through pain and torture, I shall not falter
With Dragon n' Sword, I'll burn every horde
Evil will fail and Justice prevail...

Enter the fortress
I have finished the swamp, and quest by putting amulet in temple. Where I thought the entrance was at the far far south end from the temple. It is a set on stone stairs and not under a tree. (you go down a set of stairs -long hallway to right with columns at the end with a headless statue and a dead end.) I have no idea where the stairs under the tree is. Only guess is on north side of temple ???
Thanks,
Stever

Well, I'm a bit confused - that's the only entrance to Fortress Kroth - you have to beat Commander Gresh that's laying siege to Kroth, and then you can enter. I have checked on some walkthroughs - If you're looking for the entrance to the goblin caves, in the swamp - it is under a tree and you'll know it when you see it when you see two Gobbots (Robot goblins) with flamethrowers guarding it. I still don't know where you are. Which Chapter are you on and how far into the chapter are you?

Also lost
I'm also looking for the way to the fort also.
I received some kind of Icon from a man dying at the entrance to the Swamps. He wanted me to place it on the Alter. The problem is I do not know what the Holy Icon looks like,, and no one in my party has it. I have taken each memeber up to the Alter trying to place it. So how do I complete this quest?.
What part ( South, East ,West , North ) of the swamp is the Tree with the entrance ?. I have killed everything in the swamp.
Need help on this.

It's called the Azunite Artifact. It's small with a pink-purple colour and only takes up one square of your inventory - if you move your mouse cursor over it it will say "Azunite Artifact". You don't actually have to do anything with the artifact itself, as long as the artifact is in someone's inventory, all you have to do is click the altar and the artifact will automatically be placed ontop of it and your journal will be updated.
As for the tree, I'm not sure where it is exactly in the swamp, I normally just follow the torches and bridges from island to island. A walkthrough has always been able to help me - you can get one from http://www.gamefaqs.com - it's very helpful. I would tell you step-by-step, but unfortunately, I don't have a saved game in that chapter and also my post would end up looking like a walkthrough.

For the record (if anyone cares)
This thread is (understandably) mistitled. It is about the end of the swamp, three quarters of the way through Chapter 4. The currently-open Fortress Kroth Quest doesn't really get going until Chapter 5. Merik's staff is the main Quest which you have to finish first to complete Chapter 4. From the swamp look for the secret entrance to the goblins' tunnel fortress.
The underground temple with the headless statue at the end (it does have a head, placed neatly at its feet!) is a dead-end side-chamber with two entrances. The staircase from an island reachable only by wading is one entrance. The other entrance can be discovered by accident (literally).
