No XP - help please

Hi there,

I had a 3-man party (one dire-wolf, one fighter=me and one combat mage=Finala) when I decided to take Amren in on the team. My pet and the fighter were both level 34 at that moment, the combat mage was level 33. Amren was only level 20 when he joined.

Now I've been fighting a while against level 28 to 32 bad-guys and all of my characters have gained experience for at least 50% of their experience bars. But not Amren, he has only gained about 7 or 8% of his bar and is not progressing very fast, while I had expected that he would level way faster because he's fighting monsters of a much higher level than he is...

What could cause the fact that Amren gets way less XP than the rest, while he should be getting more in this situation, at least I think he should... ??

(I've got "The Broken World"-expansion installed as well)

You only get experience for enemies near your level. Since the enemies you're fighting aren't near Amren's level, he's not getting much experience.

I think if you stash Amren in the inn and then take him back out, he'll gain some levels.

best thing to do is stick Amren back in Inn and wait till level 40 and drag him out again that way he will be level 39. Amren will most like meet death alot, and have to resurrect him alot. perhaps ya can get another merc (vix, taar, deru, lothar etc) to help instead, that will come out of inn near your level.

Just take him to a spot where all mobs are 2 lvls higher then him. Take all ur pty and kill all mobs and after he lvl up go to next place where mobs are 2 lvl higher than him. Do that 'till he catches up (that'll take quite some time). Or u can just send him to the INN and wait ur pty get lvl 40. If u hire a char that's 20 lvls under ur main char's lvl, it will instantly lvl up to 2 lvls above ur main char. So Amren will go straight to lvl 38.

That's all 'cause above 2 lvls of difference (formore or for less), the exp received by the mobs u kill starts to decrease and keeps going down with each lvl untill u earn only 5% of one mob's exp (formobs that are 9 lvls above or under ur char's lvl).
