Dungeon Siege III - What features/design would you like to see?
Small Dungeon Siege III Article
I enjoyed the party mechanics in the offline mode of the Dungeon Siege series - hopefully there will be at least henchmen to hire and equip!

What really takes time when you get mobs with different resistances or "healed by ...." is reconfiguring all your characters to avoid inadvertently healing monsters or wasting time using attacks to which they would be reistant. Zarmoth's horns is a typical situation.
To handle this I would really appreciate better possibilities to save and recall for individual members all of the following :
- predefined armour,
- spells
- powers
.... with at least 2 configurations per person.

More Flexable character control
Having only 3 battle formations makes the game clumsy. In legands one had several choices for battle. I have real trouble with the hold position & the "C" key thing. In legands one could select multiple characters and send them of to hold position whille main character goes on recon. mission. The defend command was also very neat; one could select characters to do battle while other characters are defending them with healing. This can't be done in DS2.
I would also like more save game options that would allow saving to a USB mem. stick or secondary hard drive. Options for saving game "naming conventions" would also be very useful here, Other than that I like the game, I will buy DS3 when available,
Will my comments go to the GSG Developers?
Please contact me regarding my comments; I'm interested in your opinion of my comments.

Interesting
what excactly would a Dungeon Siege PvP be like?
AHA I'm higher level than you bye bye game over *splat* NEXT!
If your really having to redo your party throughout Zaramoth's Horns then maybe you should consider using less type of attack...Like just the ones they're not good against...
As for me, I'd like to see a feature for your party actually waiting if you teleport or use a lift whilst Wait mode is on

I think if a new version of DS ever arrives, then it should have better graphics. The monsters must be more hard; the player should be forced to think logically to defeat bosses, not just by experience or how the AI uses the monster's spells. Monsters should be given more disabling spells, like silencing the entire party for quite some time; not only spells but also powers should be silenced. Then it will be more challenging. Lifesteal should be emphasized on melee and ranged too(like 50-80 percent burst lifesteal for some time). It will bring about new tactics, like using blood assassins' rune of sacrifice and using lifesteal per damage point as healing, or letting the blood assassin hurt himself as he can always recover from lifesteal. It will make two handed weapon party members far more powerful than before.
I would also like if the same monsters didn't respawn again when I returned to the same place again. It gets boring to kill them again.
On the other hand, I feel happy that I can actually dodge most powerful slow ranged attacks in this game making it better than DOTA where you cannot dodge simple hits(of course DOTA cannot be compared to this game they both are different). This is a positive part of the game and should be retained.

I'm pretty content with the gameplay, except that the equipments seem to be out of balance. Unique and set items are often outclassed by generic magic items at the same level. They should follow Diablo's system where rare items are rarely (lol) better than unique and set items, giving these items more importance than just having different colours.
Now, the story. While the lores of Aranna are servicable, the way they are tied to the main character is horrible. A do-gooder who is actually the last descendant of the previous do-gooder in the previous age?!

One more thing I observed which should be changed is that the power recharge is kept percentile and rates for percentile gain of power vary. I believe each power should be assigned a definite number of points, otherwise anyone can exploit the situation.I mean, for example, if you want to use elemental rage just after you have finished using it, you can just change the power to brutal attack, recharge fast, once full change to elemental rage and use it; its very fast. The main purpose of slow recharge is not letting us use those skills continuously. For that purpose either there should be provision not allowing us to change power while recharging or definite points should be assigned like 100 for brutal attack and say 300 for elemental rage so you can't use the exploit.

No party???
It just would not be dungeon siege. If they want to change the way the game is then make a different one by a different name. It could be a really good popular game with high ratings like "space siege"
I liked the DS1 with the total party control, formations, the way you could break your party into sub groups and even now the graphics arn't that bad.
Playing DS2 now and I have to force myself to play. Its party control is so different and the save game system sucks.
