Yaga Shura bug

Post by saka-rauka1 »

I downloaded the improved tougher series from the link I saw in a walkthrough:

Baldurdash - BG2:TOB Tweaks & Cheats

I failed to notice that the page hadn't been updated in 6 years. So when Yaga Shura's resistances weren't falling, I put it down to an outdated version of the mod.

So I then found this site:

Ascension/WeiDU

and downloaded ascension. However Yaga Shura is still invincible even if I rest for 8 hours and check on him later. I used Ctrl Q to add him to my party and most of his resistances were at 127 with magical cold at 50. These never changed.

So does anyone have any solutions to this?

I'd love to not have to reinstall as I heard saves stop working if you do that.

In the improved encounter his resistances only slowly drop, you have to hold out for a while.

I'm aware of this. Just how long do you have to wait though?

I rested for 8 hours. Shouldn't that do the trick? Or is it real time?

Neither, this clock only starts ticking once you've hit him and he pronounces his distress over being wounded. The idea is forcing you to face his waves of soldiers for a bit. You can check the readme for this information:

"Yaga-Shura himself has been given some better powers and
AI, including his lieutenants...and his invulnerability slowly wears off
during the course of the battle with him, making this fight a bit trickier."

In that case, something really has gone wrong. I stood at the bridge before meeting him and annihilated all his troops. Then I attacked him and kept getting the messages that he was immune to my damage. So I retreated, rested and attacked again and he was still immune.

Okay I read this BioWare Forums: Yaga-Shura (HATE THIS STUPID GUY!)

and the walkthrough I mentioned earlier. And it appears that I have missed something in the plot. You should get text explaining the destruction of Saradush? I never got that. I also went to the pocket plane after extinguishing his heart like the guy in the thread I just linked to did, and apparently that was the cause of the bug for him.

Problem is, I don't think I have a save from before I killed Nyalee. Also the reason I went to the pocket plane first is becuase it was at the time impossible for me to pick the siege camp as a destination.

Seems that guy was right then. As this time I went directly to the camp and all worked perfectly.
